Originally by: Explorers Ascendant Ok credit card or not nothing to do with this. I have no problem making money in game or out of game but that doesn't mean just coz I can I should accept the rise in cost both in and out of game.
Also no that actual jump in real life cost of playing eve is from shattered crystal cost of buying a 60 day time card that im looking at on my bank statement. A 50% rise in whats its cost before.
If stupid people and isk famres are hiking up the in game cost for gtc's than I see no reason why CCP can't just put a limit on what GTC's can be sold for.
ok, but you want a solution that fits YOU, and that's not going to happen.
a credit card IS the answer, in my opinion. again, i've been here for 4 years, have 3 accounts and it's costing me the same now as it always has so, from my perspective, there IS no problem. you're seeing a problem because the current reality doesn't suit you, which is really just your bad luck.
i've never traded in GTC's but to me they've always seemed like just a way of getting a cash boost and as people pay for them with their own RL cash then it's pretty much up to THEM how much they feel these virtual items are worth, so if you're basing your economics/gameplay off them, you have to put up with that.
i'm not trying to be rude, but you are coming off like a spoiled child who is stamping their foot and saying, "but i want, i want", which is why you're not getting much sympathy from people here. |

Because they can now be traded on the ingame market. By saying a 30-day code must not cost more than 150 million ISK, they would indicate that the value of ingame currency is 10 million ISK = 1$/Ç. This would make the ISK farmers lower their prices, making it more attractive for the regular player to buy ISK from them instead of through the legal system. This is bad on a lot of levels, but if you can't see that, you fail at life and should trash all your items and cancel your accounts right away...
anything but ban the farmers. even absurd reasoning like that. anything but actually ban the farmers who are certainly helping drive gtc prices up by being such ready customers. I hear alot of people have cancer, here let me cut you open and chop half your colon out just to make sure. better have some chemo too, it's the only way to be sure.
i can play stupid reasoning games too.

That's all mr sheep :)
unfortunately for you, having my head in the real world doesn't make me a sheep. what i am is an adult who is prepared to stick $45 a month for 3 accounts on my debit card and NEVER THINK ABOUT IT AGAIN
what YOU are is a child who wants his own way, and who isn't getting it.

I don't know why you cant see a reason for ccp not to put a limit because it is right in front of your face, EVE's ingame economy is almost entirely player driven, it's pretty much a kin to Real Life Free Market economies. That is one of the things that make eve good is the fact it has one of the, if not the most complex market for a game. The Plex codes for sell work and will always work like the rest of the items in eve, buy low sell high :P |

Used to cost me around 7 english pounds a month per account. Its now around 11.50-12 pounds a month per account. or 23-24 pounds in one pop per account every 2 months. Thats over a 50% rise in cost of playing eve.
This combined with the in game isk price rising to 300mill a month or 600 mill in one pop is making it impossible to pay for accounts one way or the other.
How is this benefiting eve or CCP in the long run?
Answer from a GM please.
It's 12 quid a month, ffs.
Used to be 7 ffs.
Yes, I've played for over 4 years, and I know it was cheaper in the past (btw watch Zeitgeist) but inflation means it has increased. To be honest, 12/month is peanuts compared to whatever else you, I imagine, pay for.
You could always just set up a mining macro and make nice coin that way. Plenty of others do.

Alot of nubs here and mistaking this as personal and talking about adults and children and answers that suit me and blah blah blah. Cutt the bull guys and stay on topic.
I am looking to hear from the people of eve who are not going to state the obvious or the same dribble you guys think justify's everything and no a credit card does not solve this issue at all.
This is a topic that has frack all to do with my personal circumstances or what I think or want. Its me stating facts of the current situation and getting responces from people who use there imagination for out of the box thinking.
People who can't do this are whats wrong with the world and have the typical accept the way things are type of thinking.

You don't know me so = wrong. read my first post you will see that nub.
You've obviously have read other GTC threads. You obviously have seen the same posts as being stated in here. What possibly made you think this would be any different? All this is, is just supply and demand, nothing more, nothing less.
If you don't want the pay the price then find another method or stop playing. Cancel account is to your left.

Just another comment, I guess. It's Britain, you should be used to getting ****d at every turn when it comes to the cost of stuff.
On the plus side, the price of petrol here in the US has halved in the last 6 or 8 months. \o/ Maybe Ill start a few more accounts. Or maybe I'll continue to consolidate my accounts in protest.

If you don't want the answers everyone has heard a zillion times, don't ask a question we've heard a zillion times.
This question has been answered zillions of times - and the answer is:
SUPPLY AND DEMAND period case closed show over there's no box to think out of there's nothing CCP should do
Nothing new to see here, move along...
That doesn't make us nubs, or sheep or idiots. If you want to stick to the topic, then fine, stick to the topic and beat the dead horse some more with your brand new stick... but the horse is dead, it's been dead, and no amount of new people with new sticks are going to change that.

You want an answer from a GM directly, as it seems your whole question is about whether CCP will take any action, and this isn't the best place to ask for that. Send a mail to them directly as they may not see this thread.
People in this thread are trying to explain that as far as we are aware there is no plan for CCP to step in to fix prices, and they are putting forward their views.
The reason you're getting aggro is that we've already discussed this a number of times, and the same points keep cropping up.
There. Hopefully that's what you're looking for.

How much are subscriptions elsewhere (especially the USA)?
For the UK, we are billed in euros.
For 1 month subscriptions, this is:
EU 14.99 = GBP 12.50 = USD 18.87.
(According to xe.com at the time of writing.)
A 60 day GTC costs USD 34.99 as far as I am aware. |

USD 14.99 = GBP 9.97 -> roughly an increase of GBP 2.50 (Edit for clarity: if you were somehow paying a USA subscription rate)
Previously (before all the stockmarket/current/economic lala): USD 14.99 = ~GBP 8?
From that perspective it might appear that the prices have gone up substantially I guess, but that doesn't that GTCs is the problem.
(I do question why CCP charge us more than the USA though ...)
