Hey guys, right now I am a bit of a carebear, but want to get in on factional warfare (I am Amarr).
Is this viable for a new Eve pilot. I have like 2.8mil SP pretty spent toward fast light ships (inty). Unfortunately I am broke as hell so was wondering if it really was possible to make money doing it, as my current route (mission running) is boring as hell.

My pvp experience (pirating) has been an isk-sink. Unless you get good, which I'm not. haha
Sure you CAN score some nice loot on occasion, but chances are not in your favor.
That being said, I've never been in FW but I would guess if you got into a well put together/coordinated gang, it IS possible to get a nice payday. I just wouldn't count on it to make a living.

TBH FW is a piece of junk most of the time, full of dock/undock games, idiotic full t2 gangs versus a gang of t1 frigs and stuff like that. I'd rather War-dec people really.

no offense, but that description sounds JUST like a griefer corps, AND how most empire war's become, docking games, 8 hacs vs. 12 one month olds who are cross fitting rails and blasters i dont have a problem w/ griefer corps, but in FW at least you actually have people on your side that kind of stand a chance (as not only one faction has t2 ships) |

PvP of any kind is not a money maker to begin with, and sometimes never will be. But you can have a good time in FW with just a properly fit frigate. The great thing with a cheap frigate is that you can get into any size complex.
Also if you are use to mission running but are a bit bored with it you could always try running some mission for the militia. They require you to travel into enemy space and you may find yourself in a PvP encounter just trying to complete the mission.
I'd just save enough isk to buy and fit like 5 T1 frigates. Fit them, put ammo in the cargo bay, then enjoy. |

FW is decent for PvP practice, and there's usually something to do at least. Making money at it though? Or any PvP for PvP's sake? Not a chance. But it's fun.
I agree with the above.. make enough money to fit out five T1 frigates, load them with ammo, and see if you can find a small gang. Ask around in the Militia channel if you join, someone will take you on if there's a fleet going.

My FW is awesome PVP for PVPs sake. Not much income in it but I don't mind as long as it is so much fun as it is. |

you can have a great time in FW with Frigates, destroyers and cruisers. Making isk while doing it might be a bit difficult though. run your missions until you find another way of making a decent income.

Odd. I'm having a blast in FW because it's exactly not like that. Can't play dock games if you're in a plex and there's no place to dock and no gate to jump through. 
And the fact that any ship bigger than a T1 cruiser tends to be a liability / explodey bullet sponge. Small ships ftw!
I mean, sure, there's blobs but a blob can only be in one place at a time, avoiding them is trivial.

Ignore Terrafail, FW is good for noobs. However, you won't be able to make ISK off it unless you're a loot vulture...  Try trading or scamming to make your ISK. |

FW is fun, and it is good way to get some pvp experience...but isk not so much. I guess you can sell the tags from plexs and do the missions but FW is far more of an isk sink than fountain.
