ok i've done some searches on this and am not getting a clear idea on how to do it properly. i have a corp member who wishes to experiment with researching at one of our labs. i'm fine with that but not comfortable with giving full access. i've been told that i have to give him access to one of the corp wallets, set the lab up for renting, but the rest is rather vague. we don't have an office in the system but i've also been told that's not necessary for corp members.
my question is what do i have to do to give him access, then how does he go about accessing the lab and running the job, does he have to rent it? or can he just pop open the lab and drop the bp in?
your help and advice is much appreciated.

Where to start...well first of all you will need to give him access to a corp wallet for sure. When lab rent is paid the isk comes out of the renter's current corp wallet. Even if the rent is 0 a corp wallet needs to be set.
There are a couple possiblities as to how he can get actual access to the labs now. If he plans on doing any invention or copy he will need access to the labs. ME and PE can be done from an office if it doesn't require any materials to do so, which it usually doesn't. If you can't rent an office in the system or don't want to, then you'll have to setup access to the actual lab.
Type 1: Setting up access to the actual lab
In the POS management screen, under the tab Structures \ Access you will be able to set access to the lab to "Corporation". After you do that the "Hangar Access (Other)" roles apply and you can setup access to the labs hangars that way (keep in mind this also gives access to other offices that fall under the "Other" category). In the Science and Industry screen in the installations tab, find the slots for your lab, from there you will be able to set how each slot behaves(rent and availability). Then they just go to the lab, put in the BPO/BPC and materials if needed and do research.
Type 2: Using an office
Rent an office in the same system as the POS. Setup hangar access to the office somehow with roles. Setup the lab slots in the Science and Industry screen like mentioned above. The member then puts his BPO/BPCs in the hangar(s) in the office and is then able to setup slots.
