Some days while living in a WH the biggest pain in your ass is having to scan s*** out its not really the length of time it takes its the constant mouse movement and the inability to just do something else while your scanning out a system.
Now auto scanning would be the best thing in the world I'm not suggesting it should be as fast as normal scanning but that it should actually take much longer maybe 4 times as long as it would take an experienced scanner.
5 - 10 minutes per signature resolution would be a good time I think. Cloak up start auto scanning go watch a movie and come back. It would be no worse than auto piloting. although that does come with more risk's maybe you can't cloak while auto scanning... hmm... don't know if I like that idea but it would be a way of further balancing it against manual scanning. second the auto scanner could scan in order of the sig ID so using multiple scanners could not speed up the process.
Ideas, thought, Keep it constructive pleas.
PS: you could also make it so that it can't scan out moving objects so ships would be out. |

You chose to live in a wormhole. Wormhole living requires copious amounts of probing. It comes with the territory.

DEAL WITH IT. I'm not talking about making it faster but less annoying why not make the game smoother if thing still are just as difficult... Why so dismissive? I could say lag is part of blob fights its comes with the territory get used to it. but I would never be so stupid as to say so.
I could have said You chose to live in WH's. Living in WH requires sharing bookmarks. it somes with the territory.

But again that would be a stupid thing to say. |

Did you listen to your own proposal? You are proposing to make probing faster and less annoying, in a very silly and unrealistic way. Your proposal is so absurd, why not just go a little further and propose that sigs be replaced with beacons in space that you just see on your overview and warp to? |

NO I SAID IM NOT PLANNING ON MAKING IT FASTER YOU IDIOT. CAN YOU READ!
God I hate people who make an augment against an argment for something that someone isn't even proposing.
I suggested making is 4 times SLOWER to auto probe around 7 ~ 10 minutes per sig |

That was the argument I was making, are you actually an idiot. I'm saying they made the change to make the operation easier learn to read between the lines.
Also they have significantly smoothed out lag in blob fights with time dilatation etc are you going to make that point next... really... |

Sure I can. I'm just making the more than likely correct assumption that you don't know how to probe right and it does really take you 10 minutes, if not more, per sig. Learn how to probe... plenty of people who actually put some brainpower, something it seems you lack, into probing can 100% a system in less than 5 minutes.
So yeah, you're looking for two things. Faster time for your derpy self, and no effort other than punching a button. Effort and time spent go hand in hand.

Ok, so you're now comparing probing to lag reduction and time dilation? Just what is the color of the sky in your universe? |

You are actually an idiot no that's final. I'm saying you should have the option to auto scan like you have the option to auto pilot but it should take longer than manual scanning like it does for manual piloting... really are you mentally handicapped because I have explained this idea to a lot of people and they have understood it but you seem to not be able to.
I'm sorry for calling you an idiot if you are mentally handicapped. |

They have all help in the smooth operation of EVE do you think auto Piloting should be removed from the game? because what I have suggested is simmlar to the kind of nerfs auto piloting has on it.
Increased risk by not being able to cloak while auto scanning and Increased time necessary to Scan down an object with also the foresight to stop abuse by making the auto scanner scan by the sig ID to stop people with multiple clients scanning a system out faster with 7 clients or so. |

And I am Not suggesting removing manual probing in most cases I think people because of the nerfs would use manual scanning most of the time just like for auto piloting.
All I see when I read your posts are borderline incoherent streams of consciousness. It's a true testament to this idea of yours. |

I did not read the entire thread in depth but saw a lot of negatives, so will skip the specifics. But ...
Perhaps you can salvage this idea with a POS module, it will at least scan out the WH you and your corp occupy on a regular basis. Although, an occupied WH is usually pretty much cleared out all the time anyway, so not much to find from day to day.
Another idea could be that you have to anchor some sort of scanner, and then have to come back a few minutes later and turn it on, and go back to it later to get the information. Also, soon as this thing starts to anchor, it shows up on the overview system wide and ANYONE can use the information it collects. About enough HP to stand up to a BS for about five minutes, cost about 10 mil ISK.
Takes about oh, 2 hours to scan down the system and collect the sites. Once you're done using it, take it with you or leave it.
Would create a PVP focal point in the system, it would not be safe and it would relieve some of the monotony of mapping out an entire system.
Edit - Oh, and has to be anchored at the local star. No safe POS skirts to hide behind. |

scanning is not ment to be easy it take practice, right now i can find the planet scan with 8 au probes get it to a point then use 4 au then 1 au then 0.25 au probes so its 4 scans per signature and that is only with 4 probes on it so with 8 probes i can do sigs in pairs and get a system done rather quickly. again i was not able to do that right away and soemtimes i have to redo probes but it is somethign i learned how to do. what you propose will negate any skill in scanning and simply require you to sit back watch a move and have a system done for you as long as it is posible for you to get a sig scanned down (scan strength wise).
as with the pos mod idea ccp did have those and then removed them
on another note id like to see that only covert ops cloak can be enguaged while using scna probes so you are forced to be in a covert ship if you want to hide while your probe |

I think the best compassion I could make is auto Piloting for traders. you knopw what? get out of wormholes, if you cant d-scan, youll just end up getting ganked and giving some transient non-wh native your items, and we woudlnt want that. |

Another person amusing I can't can just... like saying because I used auto pilot that I cant jump from system to system without it. sometimes I just want to walk away when there a 40 sig's to scan. Its nothing to do with the ability scanning is easy but its fecking annoying. |

Not talking about D-scan I'm talking about probing and if you had read the first post you would know that. and over 2 years and 40 billion made in C1 to C5's and only 3 losses made while doing PVE in WH's I think you have no right to tell me to get out because I'm going to get ganked.
And I like killing people in WH's as much as the next guy so why would I want to automate D scan.
and to people who say that WH's should diffcult to scan out well there just not plain and simple and why make it more difficult we already put 10s of billions at risk every time you invite someone to the corp you can take measures but unlike in 0.0 EVERY player has to put EVERY ship that they what to use inside the hole has to be stored in the SMA's and I'm not talking about not having to deal with scanning and I suggested a load of nerfs to the auto probing to make it only attractive if your willing to wait and add risk.
For example Longer waits
Scanning in alphabetical order by the sig ID (to stop people using lost of alts to scan out a system faster than they could otherwise)
Not being able to cloak while auto scanning (there by stopping people going totally AFK while scanning and adding danger to auto probing)
Not allowing the use of combat probes with the auto scanner.
I really can't see the problems you have with it, I'm not suggesting having a normal local, I'm not suggesting changing the D scan, you guys just seem to love sitting there and scanning out 10 - 30 sites WHICH YOU WOULD STILL BE ABLE TO DO! |

Meh... just do it by hand. It's faster and gives you the option (once you have enough of a 'hit') of ignoring things you're not interested in. This sounds rather like something botters would use to find grav sites. |
