If I want to build a ship with my Bpc and open 'manufacturing', pick installation and the rest inputs and then press ok a window opens with the name Accept Quote. - If I do this with a ship I see all raw materials needed and a waste for every material. I also see the T2 components there with waste. - If i do the same with an Item I have only the raw materials there with waste. The T2 Components shows under 'extra material' and we have no Waste.
Q1, Is this a bug? Q2, If it is, where is the T2-components supposed to show up? They are not raw materials but always had waste until now....

Items normally only need 1 unit of the components and so have no waste.
Ships need more than 1, so they are affected by the -ve ME.

A 10 runs Tachyon Beam Laser II needs 170 Laser Focusing Crystals with no waste at all. Problem is that when we build items, all T2 components shows under 'extra materials' in the Accep Quote Window resulting in no waste. When we build Ship's all T2 Components shows under 'Raw Material' giving us waste.

So when you go to manufacture a module, the quote shows no waste, but it does show waste with a ship?
Screenshots to clarify?

Usually with T2 modules, the trit etc shows waste, but the other things do not.
Ships most (aside from R.A.M Tech) materials show wastage.
It has something to do with what you get back when you refine. _____________________________

Edited by: Moggy TheCat on 23/11/2008 11:49:38 im not sure about but,
sure u r right , that is a T2 component but i think u try to compare two different types like apples and pears
the laser focusing is a modul - building part while all the others (u show on the stabber job) are ship building parts
that should be the point why u have on the laser focus NO waste , cos of the modul price (and listed under extra material) and on the plasma thruster and so on u have instead waste because its a ship ( and thats why listed under raw material, cos its normal need for a T2 ship)
But the waste doesnt matter really cos u always build with perfect skill and have no real waste cos all parts are used to 100% except the outcomin damaged R.A.M (which can be repaired) so dont worry about the waste unless u try to build bulkwise a 100 ships per job...
pls correct if im wrong

tough to say, maybe submit a bug report with those screenshots? clearly "extra material" is immune to wastage, but who knows if laser focusing crystal was intended to be there.

It's not new, it's always been this way. I don't think it's a bug either. _____________________________

oh, it's not new? So I'm not supposed to use the calculation =((10/1,1)*(100%+F2))*C2 when I build items? (F2 and C2 is cells in my excelsheet and 10/1,1 is the waste I have used the last two years)
