not the right place for this but wtfever i cant figure this out
unfortunately, the military has me limited access to my desktop so, i use my laptop to play eve now. (as far as i notice) since the patch my laptop has been running eve like sh!t.
symptoms : super slow to load item hangars, ships, etc. when moving the cursor it moves in 'pulses' and when i type the letters dont show up for a couple seconds delay.
laptop info: is nothin fancy but has always run eve fine til now. i play on low graphic setting as well.
Acer, AMD 64bit(2.0ghz) 2gRAM, 256ati. windows vista(non-64bit afaik)
my attempts: i thought mayb when i installed AVG there was a conflict, so i tried uninstalling avg, and nothing changed. ive uninstalled, re-download/installed eve. ive defrag'd, cleared catches and chat logs.
im lost as what to do, any computer software gooroo's have any ideas?

Do you mean the Quantum Rise patch, or the Quantun rise bugfix patch that is supposed to be fixing alot of issues that sound close to these.
I also play with a laptop, and with craptastic deployed internet, and yes since Quantum Rise i have had a much harder time, with alot of the same problems. Hopefully the extened downtime let them fix some of this.
Edit- At work so I am not even sure if the downtime is over yet.

Try to downgrade to lower graphics for starters. Resolution as low as possible and also classic client and not premium.
After that if things have improved a little do a defrag and try to push up step by step the resolution. But always keep the classic client graphics.

yea running the classics now, and its been since the patch in general. this most recent fix did nothing really.

mmm while your ingame mash that Esc key and on the "Display & Graphics" tab in the section labeled "Common Graphics Settings". I suggest unchecking Turret Effects, Effects, Missile Effects, Trails, Load Station Environment, & Orbit Station if they are checked.
In that same location you might try a different cache size and see if that helps. I suggest a "Low" cache size as the first choice and work your way up incrementally and see how each choice affects performance. |

FDZ? i only owned/lost 1 sleip, that was in Bhizeba.
however i see a cyclone loss i have from FDZ..
