Why do you all seem to hate CA so much? Seriously?

Shiwan Khan	Posted - 2004.07.10 09:32:00 - [1] Ok, this sounds like a reatarded thread but honestly, i have been in CA for what has probably been the better part of 8 months now, I have seen the beginning of CA (when we fought Curse Coalition, Citizens of Curse, SA) and at that time we had a few piratical corps in the alliance...big deal. Now fast forward 8 months and some people are still spouting crap about us being a pirate alliance. (probably sad victims of brainwashing caused by SA propaganda machine) I recently read the ATUK post about them claiming Paradise constalation and there was an abundance of flames from corps i have never even heard of...one kid called us the Cruiser Alliance (because we only use cruisers? buy a clue...) another criticised us because ATUK has 1 system...kinda hard to drive a force (primarily frigates (saw the first ATUK battleship in months today in a fleet battle)) out of a system, where they are normally in station, safespot, or sitting 300km off our fleets. Another thing i do not understand is why people do not give us credit for things we have accomplished....we took on SA in its prime...with little resources...and still nothing. To date, the enemys i can remember us fighting at one time or are still fighting (if i forget a few, its 4:30 AM so...hehe) SA, FA, CC, CoC, ATUK, m0o, Evol, m0ovolution, (counted m0o and evol separately because they both attacked us separately before combining against us) CFS, Celestial Apoc, RKK, GWP, and the list continues... I mean for gods sake, what makes us soooooooo different from other alliances? Why must we be the center of every ****in flame fest? Why must you all hate us simply because of the complete and utter bullchit spread by our enemys? Please answer this post. This post was not meant to be a flame. P.S. IMHO counting ganks is retarded as kills because they require no skill, whereas smaller fleet battles do. (this is in response to what an ATUK said, cannot remember context but....its 4:30 AM so...lol)

Actually I know you do. I don't know why everybody is fighting you, but I do know that you (i.e. some member corps) started the war with us, by having corps pirate in PF-346 and also shooting our ships and declaring war on us (P.O.D., SIM etc).

Everywhere i went CA would smack me like u would never believe.. i recieved mails calling us pussie* everyday.. CELES ppl were getting upset as the game was turning into something it shouldnt. we have a girl in our corp and she got very upset with what was happening, the game was no fun for many of our ppl, we also have a number of younger players. one day our female member was just about in tears, i have grown up with her through my EVE time, and a nicer person u would not find, she thought about quiting... for refrence, the worst corp in the game are ATUK... their lvl of smack and abuse was something i never expected. CA will always be my enemy, no ammount of isk would make me change this. some CA are nice, and i like... but they have some ppl that drag their alliance into the gutter.. if these ppl were in CELES, i would pod them then kick them. so this is why i fight CA, i fight because they harbour pirate corps, but i mostly fight them because their death gives me much enjoyment.. many ppl will have diff reasons, i hope this helps u understand ours.... d solo.

That's what started the civil war, which was anything but civil. I will say this: I find it interesting that months after it's collapse, the CC is now acknowledged as a foe faced by CA when, at the time, all CA did was deny our existence even though we were a much bigger pain in the ass than CA cared to admit at the time. In the end, CA won because you got bigger, brought in a lot of new corps and we could no longer afford a war of attrition. The CC corps that remained all remerged into Tyrell and soon after joined SA, where they carry on the fight to this day. Personally, I lived in Curse alongside CA corps for about three months before the war broke out. I got along with a lot of the people and to this day don't really have a beef with anyone in particular. Those whom I did, I have since made my peace with through private channels. I'm still sore at essentially being kicked out of my original chosen home. I fought like hell from August to January against CA and then continued the fight from within Tyrell in the SA. On one hand it's obvious that CA isn't going anywhere anytime soon but on the other I'd love to move back to my old home in P04F-3 and not have to worry about a CA fleet passing through. I no longer hate CA. Many of the people in it haven't even been in the game like you were, Shiwan, when the events I described above occurred. At this point, CA is just the EVE Boogeyman / 800 pound gorilla who everyone loves to hate. SA and CA especially seem to have just accepted that they will be at war indefinitely unless CCP stages some event to drastically alter everyone's priorities (read that as give us something better to do!). In closing, I think everyone "hates" CA because of it's roots. You grew strong with the help of a lot of pirates and so forth so most people tend to remember your roots as a reason to dislike you today, even if you had nothing to do with CA in the past. Now as far as I can gather the action last night happened between hlw and u-q corridor over quite some hours. So therefore is extremly viable that he WAS there for the whole time and when logging into TS this morning at 4am I was listening to the fleet battle and heard 6 SA BS going down with 2 losses on our side maybe 3 although there was an engagment 30mins prior to the main one so may have been 2 CA losses there. From what I can also gather there were enagagements/ganks prior to the main fight in u-q. So untill you know the full facts maybe you shoudlnt accuse people of knowing them huh? edit: added further info The above text is my own views which may not represent my corps views.

So therefore is extremly viable that he WAS there for the whole time and when logging into TS this morning at 4am I was listening to the fleet battle and heard 6 SA BS going down with 2 losses on our side maybe 3 although there was an engagment 30mins prior to the main one so may have been 2 CA losses there. From what I can also gather there were enagagements/ganks prior to the main fight in u-q. We have a load of fun using these because we get 20 people together, we see a battleship jump in and 20 frigates are on him in 3 seconds, his shields go down 5 and his armour and structure in 10. Its a quick 15-30 second battleship kill... and it racks up points for CA. On the note of pirating in that aspect... we use these tactics on our enemies when they dont fight. Perfect example: 20 vs 20 : CA vs SA. SA engages CA and we kill 7 of theirs they kill 3 of ours. SA runs down to DSS or to FAT and logs. CA goes back up to HLW after they have totally left the game and we get in our frigates so that we dont loose the numbers of our fleets and we go and gank their mining operations... pirates? Last night we went and engaged with our frigate fleet the Black Avatar area. Black Avatar has repeatedly assisted in the camping of the HED-GP system and created lots of trouble for Curse battleship pilots. They are also enemies. So we go down and kill them as well. We fight with our frigates and cruisers less than we do our battleships. In the past week we have had approximately 13-20+ battleship fleets forming everyday due to SA/ATUK connection. As for that, all you SA members, I seriously would not trust ATUK in an engagement. 2 days ago in HLW-HP soon as 1 of the SA battleships went down ATUK totally abandoned you and ran back to P04 and logged. Im not sure if you want to trust that as your fleet... I wouldnt. As for ship losses... the CA will only report losses that we take during fleet engagements concerning battleships when we take battleship losses. Its simple as that. Frigates and cruisers are 1/10th to 1/100 the cost of a battleship... so that doesnt even matter. When we tell you that we have a score of 5-2 in CA favor... we arent counting your frigates... we are counting your battleships. And trust us... Curse does not lie about our losses... we are alot more honest than you think. 2 days ago, perfect example, we had an engagement with SA/ATUK over the 6-10 station in HLW-HP. They said that we lost 3 battleships in the engagement and read off the names. We admited to loosing 2. They then said that one of our members had lost it. We look around... and hes sitting there... in his bloody battleship... with shield hardeners on. So I dont know how they counted that as a loss. Also, Curse is currently fighting about 3 different enemy alliances... XETIC, SA, and FA. They are working together toward us to try and kill us off. How many people have seen wanna-be's take on your corp in frigates and then spam this board? CA did take on SA,etc. They did a good job too. They are now assisting TPS and will do well. IMO, CCP needs to establish a site that allows people to see specific statistics (sort of like DAoC's herald). How many stations owned. How many lost. How many ships lost. How many killed. The data is there. It just needs to be mined. I don't know where I'm going with this ... I'm just saying that a player is a player is a player. You cannot win or lose in this game beyond public perspective. I wish for the day when they put in measurable goals to determine who will win or lose. For a war to have a victor.
