I can not load the game because it crashes after the splash screen disappears.
Happened as of this morning, 11/23/2008, last night I was playing the game fine. Nothing has changed on my end. I even tried uninstalling and completely re downloading the full client.

Error box Vertification Failure Verification failed: "C:\EVE\bin\ExeFile.exe", crc:d2d55f4c, expected:fa1f781f. Verification failed: "C:\EVE\eve.exe", crc:48f69981, expected:41bc0631. Verification failed: "C:\EVE\bin\DirectX\DXSETUP.exe", crc:396866ab, expected:f84e7cd0.
Now i tried downloading the client again and installing and reinstalling and uninstalling then install again. Nothing works. I'm losing training time on my charter because i cant start the game. I used EVE_Classic_Setup_70124.exe to reinstall. The same as Nakoda Ardman says: I played the game fine after updating the game whit the latest patch.. the quit the game and the next day its not working.

Filed a petition on this it just happened to me 2 hours ago and after 2 separate "clean" re-installations the game still loads splash screen then locks up loading game window. Interestingly enough its always using 68Mb of ram at this point

Have you tried running LogServer first to see what's happening? ----

I got the Win32/Virut.q Virus Its a exe injection virus and difficult to remove... Fastest way to get wried of the problem is reinstall windows and all programs. If you get the same or similar CRC check error you might want to scan your files whit a AV program or similar.

I'm having this same problem, I haven't updated anything either, nor did it happen after a reboot. I've uninstalled/reinstalled, uninstalled/deleted all files/reinstalled, copied over a working directory from another computer, and nothing.
Alt-enter is not working either.

Edited by: LeSkunk on 26/11/2008 02:58:23 I'm thinking it is somthing that was updated, I've my box updated windows, Evemon was updated. That was the only two that was up dated. I may think it was the EVEmon with it getting the info for you account. But I don't know, I've have not heard from anything from my Bug Reporting.

Take a look at my Quote. If you get a Error msg when you open eve or similar you might want to scan you computer for virus. if you don't get the same error msg (CRC error) then it cant be the same fault.

So whats the common denominator? I have had no problem after update so all of you who are having problems might want to post what they have for a comp/OS. Are you all using Vista? Grooto how did you get the virus? Any ideas?

I fixed mine, I deleted everything (settings in users/name/appdata/) and the entire CCP directory, then copied over a working eve directory from another computer, everything worked fine.
No idea what caused it, or how to actually fix it aside from this though, but I'm back in game.

WinXP SP2 dxDiag shows no problems
Have to laugh that they have this many problems and haven't rolled back - I mean, really, what's the harm in that?
Reminds me of the old days when CCP did f*ck-all for Testing (2003 timeframe) - and every new release was 2 weeks to a month of "Stabilization" activity. I think even once or twice they rolled back - but of course that was when they had ~3000 concurrent users.
What's the story people? Still mulling it over, or what? I'd like to actually get to a login screen. This is ridiculous.
and please don't tell me to log a bug - anything that I'm experiencing has been reported a trillion times. I find it interesting that you folks want to rely on a "Community Test Pass" to fix commercial software that you folks make money from - as an added effort - sure; as the only effort? well....
At what point do you folks finally start fixing stuff - 1000, 2000, 5000 cancelled subs? We're all very aware how important we are...

I Cleaned my computer. so don't have any virus any more. It was the Virtu Virus. you get it from crack sites or so "they" claim. It infected all/most exe files on my computer. I did a reinstall of windows on a extra Hard disk. and then i cleaned the other windows hard disk, reinstalled eve and patched to 1,02 and now im fine.

I had exact same problem and consulted GM's.
1. It can be fixed by deleting cache and settings and i mean everything from it including prefs. Start eve again and it works :). Bad thing is you need to set everything up again, overview and all.
2. If you don't wanna delete your settings run eve-safe mode and close it normaly on quit, run eve again and voila it works untill you wanna start eve again and process must be repeted. Not recommended
Strongly recommend choice 1 as choice 2 is extremly boring to do every time.
