I was just trying to sell a intel implant +3 for 25mil on the market, got a popup if i was sure yo sell ABOVE the 21mil market price so i double checked the 25mil number. Put it on sale...5min later the thing was bought for 2.5mil !!
even if i put it for sale for 2.5mil the lowest buy order (sell order for me) was 14.5mil and they would buy it auto at that price then
Does anyone think i can petition this as i was sure to put it up for 25mil and not 2.5 as i double checked the number and again when the pop-up came or will i just get another thing of we couldnt find anything in the server logs wich i had when i lost my mega to a 3k rat in old man star (they dont scramble and i should have warped away on ctd) or when i lost a full set of implants with the lag last week when getting podded.

petitioning cause you did something stupid? Gee I wonder why the GMs are swamped. Think that auto buy works the other way round as well, if there's a buy order it would be filled at the sell price not the buy price, but not sure about that one.

If Eve treat this the same as every other MMORPG I've played it'll just be a case of "sorry but it's not our policy to refund everyone that makes a mistake".
Doesn't matter if you meant to sell it for 2.5 million or not, mistakes happen.

Your only hope is to tell this sad story to the fellow that bought it and hope he's willing to sell you back the implant or pay you an extra 22.5m.
Either option is unlikely. It's like giving away a winning lottery ticket and later asking to get it back bacause you made a mistake.

Lag or no lag when I'm putting in numbers on any MMO to buy/sell I always make sure the numbers are correct. I double check and triple check.

lol one time i think it was TTI corp put a buyorder for 1 tritanium at 100mil a unit.. instead of 100mil units at 1 each. hehehe

don't feel bad there was a Memory implant for 100K on escorw, someone beat me to it, though buy the time I checked info saw that it was the real deal the escrow had been claimed. 2.5 mill is more then nothing so don't waste your time and the GM's time

after a night sleep i think i know what happened. Its both bad luck and a bit of lag
this is what i did:
- Right click quick sell
- I see somebody buying for 14.5mil isk
- So i make a sell order
- eve fills in all fields and price is set to 14.500.000
- i remove the 14 and enter 25 (total now = 25.500.000)
- maybe because of lag the 5 didnt reach screen (i know i typed 25) and the price is now 2.500.000 instead of 25.500.000) get popup and sell

Of course it was my fault, i didnt even try to petition, scammers and market cheaters all are ingame mechanics and i accept this.

This is a bug/flaw in the market system. You should have gotten the 14.5 million. Entering prices below the bid is basically a quick sell on real world markets. Not in EVE. |

This is a bug/flaw in the market system. You should have gotten the 14.5 million. Entering prices below the bid is basically a quick sell on real world markets. Not in EVE. |

my biggest***** up to date? well I put 15 mills worth of ore on escrow for zero isk asigned to a player....
however i was lucky cos my buyer had honour and paid the agreed value.

Wait till you loose a battleship to lag or server disconnect (dropped packets as they say), with all your fancy mods that you either fought so hard for or paid so much for which may be even worth more than you ship, plus all your drones and loot in your cargo hold.
I think my biggest lag loss was a NPC kitted Mega with 100M in mods, so around 200M lag loss....
Now I dont bother with anything too expensive and always have insurance.

When selling that valuable a thing check the market for it registering proper, if not buy it yourself to circumvent the 5 minute delay or suffer.
