Minimante	Posted - 2008.11.24 21:07:00 - [1] So I was mining in my favorite .8 with 2 of my buddies, I step away from the game to grab a drink, when I come back, my shields are being blasted away! Now I was a warp away from the space station, however A pirate (red) was attacking me, he blew me to pieces and then just left... I was under the impression .8 was pretty safe? I didnt see any concord at all!

Chu Ran Caldari Perkone	Posted - 2008.11.24 21:25:00 - [5] You probably saw a belt NPC spawn (a red cross). These spawn randomly in any belt in systems with 0.8 SEC status or lower. High SEC space only prevents players from firing upon you without repercussions (they still can, if they don't mind getting Concorded). If you want safety from NPCs as well, mine in a system in 0.9 or 1.0, there's no spawns there.

Didn't even get through non-boosted shields and he was in a cruiser. I don't believe it's possible to gank almost anything in 0.8 and above anymore. (Without a sizable fleet.) Which is good for legitimate miners, and bad that you can't gank macroers. I've been a pirate and a miner. So I ride the line on these things.

Or worked out if its was rats or a pirate? Its like a cliff hanger at the end of the season and the show gets canceled before next year! NOT a kublai alt. Honest!
