For every year we have played can we choose from a small range of rare named ships/mods/etc to receive as a reward. The Apotheosis shuttles were neat for the anniversary and they are exactly the thing i am on about.
Other MMOs have such things and i think it's a pretty cool way to thank long time players.

Absence of a hard level cap is reward enough in my opinion. We get to branch out and have more variety.

I wish we'd get real ships instead of shuttles :P
These shuttles arn't worth much now because no one loses them, and if they do, it's still just a shuttle :P
They should hand out medals though for each year you've played.

Too true.
Since CCP seem to be giving stuff to new players (higher starting SP etc) but forgetting those of us who have been playing for years. Call it Concords Rewards to those of us who remained pod pilots for so long.
It doesn't have to be valuable, just something unique that shows that we are appreciated for staying with the game for so long.

I've said it before. If an account is subscribed for 3 years constantly and doesn't change hands then that account should be able to colour their ships or have bigger explosions or something. Can't be that hard to add an extra field into a table somewhere to store a colour 'offset' which can then be applied to models. Something utterly useless but still quite cool.

Horrible idea imho. Bigger explosions & special ship colors ?? come on. If anything, they could add a "veteran"-medall or something. shouldnt be too hard, since they allready have the whole medall system in place.
dont no tho if thats really needed. kind of a premature e-peen thing.

This would be good. Seriously, now since we will be getting ambulation and we will have out own rooms. Give us all Unique Items or clothes. Or Ship modules or anything. As some of you Devs mentioned in the presentations at fanfest. You love us. Show us some love.

I can't understand(yes i know i said "leave it at that", so sue me) why people are SO against giving something that doesn't affect anything as a token of appreciation.
So someone would get, say, example, just, purple trails on ships.
Would this make your EVE game experience unbelievably unbalanced?

Agree with Sherrif. Its not like its like the Infmaous Star Wars Galaxies, where if you still play, you can now get a free shuttle to fly you ANYWHERE...compared to before, where you had to spend 10 mins waiting, and 15 minutes travelling to actually get there.
All folks are asking for is a little 'wow, a veteran'. I know young players who fly a raven. So how can i stand out? In your job, you no doubt feel 'better' than those below you, even if its in a 'YES! I stand out higher than someone else!". Its just the same in eve, except Eve is a recreational game. So why on earth would a JOB have such a 'epeen booster' and eve not?

Colored engine trails would be fine by me, but the OP specifically said ships/mods so that's what i clamped down on.

Please no.
Having still got 2 active UO accounts this just means the countless colored bags and candy canes are collecting dust in my bank or two houses.
Heck I have a second house just to put the bloody "gifts" and ****e EA/OSI has been giving players at christmas, thanksgiving, valentines, UO birthday, random expansion or -insert random other occasion-.
It's fun "once", but it quickly gets old when you have 5x characters x 2 accounts x multiple shards. *sigh* Same would happen in EVE although only 3 characters * amount of accounts..

Colored engine trails would be nice, or a medal, or a choice of special clothing for our avatar when WiS comes out, or a nice random 'artifict' to put on display in the captain's quarters, that sort of stuff.

What next ? Achievements ? I mean come on. Not elitist, but the nature of this game is such that do we really need gifts because we play ? The client and updates are free, the cost to play is in line with other MMORPGs. I'd rather have them spending time making the game play better and reducing lag and such than giving out titles or oddball ships or a skill only 2003 players can have.
WoW and EQ and UO ----> That way.

how about they make that chars can randomly forget skills. and the older the char is, the higher the probability is?
i mean, the older you are, the more forgetfully you get, right?

The veteran rewards with Tabula Rasa were just bits of pretty fluff. But nice to have anyway. But like everything else they will soon (and not a CCP soon) cease to exist.
If I had to choose between veteran rewards or a working server, I would choose the latter.

Allot of games have veteran rewards, and ones that were around long before WoW. Its not a bad thing, they are usually useless items anyway, like Guild Wars gives minipets every birthday.

I'm not saying no, I'm just trying to think about whey someone would want a reward. Elaborate about why some of you feel you need rewards for being around a long time? Are you having no sense of accomplishment? Are you feeling you deserve it? Do you want to just show off to the young players? Get to the heart of it and think why do you really want those rewards and let us all know the answer.
That being said, it sounds fine to me. Maybe they should reward people just for the fact that it makes people all fuzzy inside.

I tell you something that I would like to see. I would like see something akin to the little t2 diagonals they have on ships and modules on avatars, so that in forums and ingame people can very pbviously see how long you have been ingame, so with just a I to appear when you have had an account active (so not counting offline periods) for a year, II for two years and so on.
Yes, I know. people can check employment history but the noobs rarely bothere to do so. I get sick of being told obvious stuff by people who have been ingame three months.

I don't think it's a bad idea, providing it is something which dosen't give a player a competitive advantage.
Also, it would have to be rationalised as to not effect immersion. Some kind of reward per year of being a 'pod pilot' could make sense from an RP perspective, also it would probably help to a build a long term players attachment to the game, which CCP should want to encourage.

i fully agree a veteran trofee or somehting like it would be nice when ambulation hits :) or a picture of you taken in the first months of you flying in eve published in a nice frame wich u can put somewhere in your quater :))))) then again not all have screen shots of something that old.. but a funny idea anyways.. would infact be funny regardless if they add soemthing like that.. ohh mann ambulation will revolutionice eve.. theres just so many aspects to eve wich are to be unflded :==)))) cant wait..

A water bowl for my slaver hounds would be nice, I take a couple of them wherever I set up for missions.
By the way, they're like most dogs, just want to hang around and go for a walk every day.
