Maybe.
When a player or group of players organise it.
It was stated at FanFest that CCP have no plans to do another Alliance Tournament, that they would rather give us, the playerbase, the tools to organise such events for ourselves.

Not any time soon, at least not in the form you have seen the previous ones.
CCP does not want "spoonfeed" us, they rather want to create a player-run tournament option. "Arena" of some kind where people can do 1vs1, 2vs2, etc and have bets on the battles while other people watching it.

Yeah all that "spoonfeeding" stuff is rubbish they just dont want to pay for it and they arent bothered about the vets anymore.
So instead of a huge alliance tournemant that everyone loved to take part in and/or watch with big names and prizes and a TV show and everything we get "Arenas". Instead of being unique and having special and much loved events we have another WoW feature.

It truly amazes me, but if CCP decides to do anything somebody decides is negative, everybody gets ****ed off and says we are trying to become WoW

That's the reason why they decided not to make any more alliance tournaments.
Not alot of people were even watching them and the cost was too much to please a really small crowd.

You know that old "why do you spend so much time/money/manpower/[resource type T] on doing this, when you need to fix issues X, Y and Z" argument that pops up every now and then when they do something special? Well, in this case, CCP figured the complainers were actually right. Tying up a huge amount of GMs, technical and creative staff, and which used a ton of network resources for something that had a rather limited internal appeal (i.e. limited effect on existing customers) and with zero external reach (i.e. no new customers are acquired), is just not worth it.
Sad? Yes.
A sensible decision? Unfortunately, yes.

It won't have the grandeur or hugeosity of the CCP led tournaments, but there's a player putting a small one together and I think we should support things like this.

No alliance tournaments anymore. They are going to be replaced by the arena.

I wish it would only be available like, one weekend in a month..
I don't want an instanced arena with consensual pvp to be available 24/7, but if it was like once in a month event it would be pretty cool.
