Well, this time around it has a lot of fixes, and a proper website of its own.
Even better- I've opened the source.
website
Changes since 0.1.3:
+ Fixed heat dissipation amp II giving boost to explosive resist (affected all shield thermal resistance amps) (found by Constance Harme) + Fixed rendering issues, main window now noticeably faster + Fixed some things about SimulatorSlots that were bugging me + Fixed Gunnery skill applying to damage instead of RoF + Fixed UI contrast somewhat, fonts are easier to read (suggested by Kalliopia) + Fixed bombs, scripts, and probes not loading into modules + Fixed Scan resolution and signature radius not being calculated properly + Added loading ammo to all like weapons simultaneously (suggested by DeathsEmbrace) + Added DPS/Range graph to DPS tab (suggested by AstroPhobic) - Added Cargo bay (suggested by AstroPhobic) + Added EVE API Character loading + Added Various module sorting capabilities to MarketDialog (suggested by Lubomir Penev) + Added Req. Skills tab to Show Info Dialog + Changed default color in honor of Quantum Rise

>.< Ouch. Removed, and it shouldn't have been there in the first place. That's what I get for pushing it out the door.

@Dr Dronez What version of java are you using? Also this seems fairly specific to your graphics driver. Mine telling me your card and windows version?
@chadwill I was able to reproduce it. Seems loading booster charges is broken...
I've setup for bugtracking on the website now, for those who have the time and inclination to report bugs.

Can't find ships in market. Can't close market window, and all in all - EFT layout much better. Why it is need to tab tank/damage/drones if you have tons of unused space? I could understand separating stats and simulation to different tabs. But not splitting stats between tabs.
And all in all... yes, simulating EVE is funny etc... but for fitting tool it's not gonna pay good. You can't even easily distinct the modules you have fitted. -- Thanks CCP for cu |

You make a good point about splitting stats. Plus, a list-mode version of the fit would probably be a welcome addition for the left brained players.

This is awesome. Much better then some of the other ones out there. But I have noticed that it is very slow. I click on one item and it takes forever for it to populate into the fiting screen. That goes the same for everyrthing else. It may just be my computer. Just because it is slow doesn't mean I am not going to use it.

Responsiveness is something I'm still grappling with. TightFit is rather a graphics-heavy app, so optimizing drawing is a big deal. I've been working more on mechanics lately than UI, but I'll try to get it fixed for 0.1.5 rather than 0.2.0.

I love the graphical fitting view.
I am however having trouble reading the text in the market browser window and on the graphical fitter. Possibly need to change the font or increase font size? It is hard to read and feels like my eyes need a check up.
I would suggest using the Market window as a default, with a clear menu and options. Of which I keep losing when I flick over to EveMon or other programs. It would be nice to have an extra taskbar tab for this to quickly switch back, or bring both windows back into focus together.
I'm also having trouble with reporting bugs on your site after the first one. It askes if I have double posted.
In the market is a full item and skills list needed?
Fitting Strip miners in a Hulk is not calculating CPU usage correctly.
I could not load drones in the drone bay either. Would be nice for exporting a fit.
The EFT import and outport could be a little more prominant or labeled.
And then I found in the top right corner a "?" "about" listing how complete everything is. lol, guess you have some of these things to do already.
I would like to double click on a fitted module to unfit it.
Could do with info on ship agility, alignment times, warp strength etc..
Otherwise it looks to be very interesting. Keep it up.

Yes, the font is sub-par, but I have yet to find a good anti-aliased replacement that works well at smaller sizes.

I have been having this problem as well. I seem to have a version of the tracker with a bug in it The work-around seems to be to clear browser cache, but that's tedious.

Give me a few hours to get a newer version of the bugtracker installed and then definitely post these to it. I especially like the double-click to remove a module.

Ok, got the bugtracker hacked into working shape. If you've got issues, we've got DB space to hold them indefinitely.

I am sure they all like your program, I just came across it 2 min ago, and one question pops to mind.. what does this tool have that EFT dont ? I know I have not yet installed it, so my apologies for that, but you see i am a very happy EFT user.

Honestly, there is nothing TightFit does that EFT doesn't do (unless you count "look pretty", but that's a subjective matter). EFT is certainly the more mature application. But TightFit is coming along and, who knows, maybe one day it will be able to do something EFT can't.

TightFit 0.1.5a Released! Fixes for the bugs that were reported, as well as clicking to unfit a module, and a different font to try out- see if it works better.

Looking good. It is a lot faster then what it was before. I am noticing that the interface looks a little hazy. It may just be me because my Video Card is crapping out on me. I am also noticing that it has access to view my charicter but it isn't actually updating with the skills that I have.

It works on the Mac, with a few small issues: It seems the window containing the whole fitting layout + tank/dps etc. panels isn't big enough, and I can't resize it. Looks like it's missing about 50 to 100 pixels off the bottom.

Very awesome looking, but there is something messed up when trying to fit a Manticore stealth bomber. It doesn't apply the role bonus to cruise missile powergrid, and the DPS and volley damage are way off when compared to EFT.
Also, it imported the Wrath Cruise Missiles as questionmarks.

@scrambled:
A Mac user! You may have to send me a screen of that- just to see exactly what you mean.
@Theqwert125:
The ship bonus problem I'm aware of, the wrath missiles I couldn't reproduce. If you're running this from a console, are you seeing any error output?
@Crownus Windor:
You have to set the character as your active char. I'm going to fix that for 0.2.0 so it will automatically select a char as active if none is currently selected.

I just tested this out, i love the look and feel of the application and will gladly switch over to this instead of EFT once all the calculations are accurate. I just put in my current fittings for my punisher and with EFT it is cap stable at 42% but according to tightfit my cap will only last less than 2 minutes with everything running with ingame experience i know EFT to be correct.. I do believe some of the calculations don't add up at all, for instance NOS doesn't have any effect in tight fit etc, etc.
All in all though it looks like it will be a good tool after it's worked on quite a bit more. Good start though

Well, I've decided the best way to go about 0.2.0 is to refine/finish/fix existing functionality rather than add drone simulation. (Seems logical enough) So I'll be working on getting the calculations fixed including role bonuses.
