I was wondering what the opinion of people would be if CCP allowed a carrier to place ships into it ship manti area and then launch that ship as a drone like a fighter.
I'm not sure how Mods placed on the ship might affect the Damage and guns range and such, but I'm just looking for a ruff idea of what people think would be balanced for this idea.
Also, this might help people who have been wanting a capital mining selection, then you could drop some hulks and then hulks would work just like mining drones bringing ore back to the ships cargo hull.
And with BS you could only fit 2 so I don't think that would be to over powered.

As it happens, a while ago there was a thread dedicated to incomplete/GM used ships and modules that made it into game data files and archive websites but never into the actual game (likely stuff that was tested and rejected) - and while I can't exactly confirm it as genuine; one of them was a player flown ship that was deployed from a carrier, a corvette I think it was called.
Sounded interesting.

i like this idea alot i have heard of large cap ships busting through cy. fields but what if CCP created a capital transport ship capable of transporting mass fleets through cy fields. picture this a cap. transport ship comes busting through a cy. field and instead of unleashing 20mil drones unleashes 5 command ships, 5 logistics, 1 Nyx, a dread, 20 Bs, 20 Bc, 30 cruisers, 10 intys, 5 covert ops ships, and a jump freighter packed full of station equip. Basically im talkin about The freighter of transport ships, but with real ships. So you can jump everyone through in one clean jump and unleash hells fury once on the other side.  i love it.

I can imagine how this would kill even that small amout of traffic left in 0.0 pipes. Actually I dont have to imagine it, its already happening everyday with jumpfreighters and carriers.

I remember seeing it mentioned to a dev on the forum and he made a comment that there was a technical issue involving real players staying in carriers, it did wierd stuff to the server when they jumped I think he said. It's in the ask the dev thread in general somewhere.

maybe a bit too overpowered.
and why?
there isn't a need for it as it stands. i much rather see some sub cap ships that could get to high sec

Well to be honest I was thinking of it as a replacement to the Fighter drone. there would be no need for it after this was implemented.

lol so you wanna make a bigger then titain sized freighter..hmm..just imagaine all the hulks it could fit......couple hundred hulks mining ice... muhaha crazy.. with a couple rorquals compressing and a couple of carriers for protection..well.. thats a crazy mining op. jumping from system too system completely draining every belt. all that loot. salvage. ore.. thats a **** load of titanium...damn :/ now i wanna try it

Except for one thing that makes all of that pointless...
Motherships and Ttians are able to fit and use Jump Portal Generators. Unless I'm mistaken, not only capitals are restricted to using them.
