First, my line up of MMOs is pretty big...my first MMO was Asheron's Call, from 1999-2001 (on Morningthaw). I moved to AC2 (which sucked, I went in expecting it to be like AC) to Horizons. I also played SWG, which I myself didn't like...ran for 15 min straight and didn't see one person, plant, npc or player...unsubscribed after that. Well, I could list them all...but it would be too long of a list. So any how...
AC was my second longest MMO played and was my favorite. Loved the huge open world and freedom. I also played WoW for quite awhile, only because every other MMO I tried I was bored of in a few days and went back to WoW.
So, I'm playing WoW about 2 weeks ago (about the time I started the trial)...having an okay time, but I thought at least it was a MMO. When my friend messaged me saying he subscribed to Eve...I've heard of Eve before and I did play it before, but never really did give it a good shot. Well, when he messaged me I had totally forgotten about Eve until he talked about it. So I go into the trial and start up, the last few trials I always made a Caldari...decided to make a Gallente since I always liked pets in MMOs and Gallente got good drone skills right away. I liked the Gallente ships (the way they look) a lot more right away after starting up. Plus the drones were a lot of fun.
Well, I start to get bored again after a few days. (And actually to give you a better timeframe of my trial, I started I think 3 days (give or take a day) before the expansion was released)...staying only in high-sec like I did my previous trials. Mission running was boring, since it reminded me too much of WoW quests. Mining didn't interest me and rats were way too easy in my Cruiser (a vexor). So I decide to go to 0.0, I heard Providence was the safest or one of the safest 0.0 places and I thought it would be a good start to 0.0, so the day of the expansion I fly over to Prov for a few hours. I foolishly tried fighting Battleships, which made quick work (I never got destroyed, I always warped out in time), but I didn't stop trying to defeat one. Even the cruisers were challenging (and still are a bit). So I leave Prov because I didn't want to be there when servers went down. Expansion comes up and I'm still not really sure what I want to do with Eve, so I stay in high-sec again for a couple days.
So, I decide to fly back to Providence and hopefully find a corporation based around there...since high-sec was utterly boring to me. I was still was having a lot of trouble beating any of the rats in the belts, so I decide to do a lot of research of a good loadout for my Vexor. After about 4-5 hours of looking I finally found one...in a vexor I fly to an asteroid belt to find a battleship and found one worth 850k bounty. Beside him was a frigate, which my drones made short work of. I used my blasters to shoot close and orbited about 1000m away from the BS. It took awhile but I finally killed the BS :) It was pretty easy since most of the damage was nullified due to med armor rep and my other modules.
A day ago I managed to beat two battleships, one worth 970k bounty and the other was a true sansha lord worth 3.7mill bounty. Battleships are really easy in a Vexor, but two did take me down a lot, but I still had plenty of armor left. Cruisers are a lot harder in a Vexor than BS are, I can manage to destroy two of them but it can get close. But I thought that was really cool and I felt that was a big accomplishment.
Did try some PvP. Got utterly destroyed, did learn a few lessons from that though.
Never did find a corp in Prov, none of the corporations want to take a newbie in. So I haven't really met many people out in 0.0 or fleeted with anyone. I would rather stay in Prov for now, but it kinda sucks none take me in. But oh well, I've been doing fine on my own.
Anyway, this turned into more of a blog style post lol...but yeah, Eve has been the best MMO I've played :) I love it

Sounds like you've been having fun.
The vexor is an awesome ship, if you're looking for goals, you can try the Myrmidon battlecruiser, Dominix battleship and the Ishkur assault frigate, although I personally wouldn't jump into them ASAP since they can be very expensive for newer players.
Looking at the reccomended certificates for these ships should also give you an idea of where to head in skill training.
Also, congrats on finding a True Sansha battleship and killing it in your first few days - just don't waste the isk. --- Sig Starts Here --- Lord Haur - Imperial Academy Logistical Support

I find your post similiar to my own experience. I tried eve a couple of times before I made my (today called) alt. 0.0 is the place to be if you want to experience eve at its best. I've been doing alot of different things over the past 3 years in eve and I still find things that I don't understand, new things to do and new things to learn.
About corps and such. If you want, there's plenty of big alliances who takes in new players and let them run around in their space.. Might now be providence but it's 0.0.
I hope you looted the true sansha lord. They can drop high valued items! 100m+
I hope you enjoy your stay in eve, I know I do

Thanks for the welcome :)
I did loot the Sansha (I take all the items from the battleships since they usually sell for a lot), got a sansha turret blueprint (not exact name, don't remember it) that is I guess used for stations or something. That was most valuable item if anyone buys it. I got a crystal tag, but that only sold for 1k. The other items were okay.
I think my plan is to stay in the Vexor for awhile, once I learn to get enough ISK I'll aim at getting a Battleship or a Battlecruiser.

Golden rule of EVE, fly what you can afford to lose. Just because you can fly a ship doesn't mean you should. Stick to ships your more skilled at and what doesn't pwn your wallet. DRINK RUM It fights scurvy & boosts morale!

I shure hope they put securerom limited install DRM on the eve cd's for lulz.
For the reason that they suspect thousands of people have been downloading the full eve game off the internet.

If you're near Providence, look me up. I might be willing to take you in for PvP related stuff. Be forewarned- we're not well liked in the area, as we were friendly with the former owners of the space, and people generally get upset when we're around. ;) ----- CEO, Astrum Contract Services Group ACSG Open For Recruitment (AU/AsiaPac/Late Night PST)

The more you play Eve, the more holes and flaws you'll find. The fact it remains the best out there despite that is fairly astounding.
Also welcome to Providence ! \o/ Provi is fairly atypical as far as regions go (both for 0.0 and empire (High Security NPC space))

Don't listen to the naysayers. He's probably a former nanophag ;)
Anyhow, used to live around Providence, but decided it was time to move on to more dangerous places in the drone regions. Living under CVA is "safe" but you can't really expand.
If you are looking for a corp that will accept newbies willing to learn, look me up in game.

I'm not gonna troll..*looks at some individuals*...i'm not ...but i will say this;
EVE is not the BEST MMORPG, but it is the most interesting and has most potential.
I'll correct this statement after WiS etc.
When RP fluff htis the EVEverse, i'll probably never look at another woman again.
Not including Milla Jovovich.
Or Angelina Jolie.
Or that cute girl from Chuck.
Or Chucks sister.
Let's just say i will REALLY really like EVE.

As you did, i started with AC too, and it still on my second place after EVE. High sec is fun too as long as you get targets. It seems you want to pvp, so find a pvp corp, stay there a few weeks see how it goes, if they are not good, move on. Staying in a incapable, corp, ally might kill your fun time in eve. If you ever need help, or info, convo me ingame, i am glad to help ex Asherons Call players <3
Good luck.

Why? He researched his stuff, beat the tracking of the guns and fit his ship properly. It's not like he's the average idiot that puts a hull repper and four 50mm plates on their Vexor equipped with beam lasers and undersized afterburner.
