Is it implemented yet?
I have loads of goodies that need 'improving' and duplicating.

Maybe you have to find the skill first? :P

I always thought only the original BP of any item could be RE??
Everyone is trying to RE items try RE the original BP.
Oh and if there needs a RE skill you can disregard this completly. _______________________

why would you want to reverse engineer a BP you already have? ---------------- ~= Askari =~

Sykosys why would you reverse engineeer a blueprint? The whole idea of reverse engineer (both game world and real world) is to take apart an item to determine how to build a copy.
From what I understand from one of the dev chats was there is a skill reverse engineer.
It is in the game, can be found by loot. However it is not implemented yet, so you can train in it but not use it yet.
How it will work is you use the skill on an item in a research facility. The item is destroyed and after a set period of time (depends on the item compexity of item) you end up with a blueprint.
Is there is a chance of failure? I don't know Is there a cost in ISK or minerals? I don't know.
I have not run into anyone who either has the skill, knows anyone who has the skill, or where to find the skill. However according to the devs it "is in the game". Just not usable yet.
From what I can tell this is a very powerful skill probably will have a high rank.

Well we have prototypes of objects in the game which one with the engineering skill and/or schience skill should be able to RE. We currently have prototypes of 2 objects at our corp hangar but nobody has tried REin them. Maybe Ill take that chance tonight and let you know. -------------- When you have exhausted all possibilities, remember this - you haven't. ------------------ (Thomas Edison) |
