well, first of all some guys came to pay us a visit last night in their nice battleships, fine nothing wrong with that.
so anyway stevie goes off and has a frig fight with fuphal while we wait for the nubbers to swap stations.
stevie and fuphal came back get in their big ships and just as they undock so does one of the guys that was there before. Now he doesnt do anything at first (he's already tried to fire at a couple of frigs) but then...  "->Steview has left local" 6-7seconds later "blah has started to scramble the battleship blah" now stevie has no hardners on seeing as he's just ctd'd even after the reboot of his computer he's still alive...
Logs back in to find him self in a pod, personally i find this kidna **** lame, not firing on someone untill they've left local and cant fire back?
wtf is up with that ****, fair enough if the fight had started and he ctd'd but they did NOT fire untill they say the "->Steview has left local". i find this *** and i hope they come back soon as they have alot to learn about being in big ships...
(btw 2 of these guys are about 3months old in tempest and mega)
Grrrr that kinda behaviour angers me =(, i'm done with my forum whoring now  never again i promise

The funny part was as i was docking back into station in my merlin after the frig fight. The brave guy in the Raven decided to fire a cruise at me, since id just been in a frig fight i didnt have any AB/MWD fitted but since he was trying to be cool he only fired 1 cruise which didnt even take me to armour lol :D ( caldari frigate lv5 and a tech2 small extender )
After he realised he hadnt really hurt me he fired a full 6 cruise volley at me but i docked before they got me :P lol needless to say i was giggling like a schoolgirl after that.
Stevie went afk and when he came back, this guy in the raven had docked so i told stevie it was safe to exit. Just before he did exit though, this guy in the raven came out, stevie followed a second or 2 later.
Now theres 3 of us in scorps looking at this guy and he only fires on 1 of us... the guy who just left local according to that really useful feature.
The other guy in the scorp got jammed but since i hadnt been fired upon there wasnt much point in me shooting cos the sentries would just open up.
Then we got the msg that the 2 nubs waiting at the other station were heading towards my way so i had to leave steview to get owned whilst afk :/
On my way warping out i fired a few cruise at the raven just for the sake of it. This guy didnt even have any hardeners on..... guess he wasnt expecting much of a fight from someone whod just crashed out the game...

not sure..it sounds like he CTD'd and got podded while he was restarting eve and is upset about it? Not sure but that's what it sounds like

All I could figure out was that it looks like he supports the "Logoff Exploit" and wants it so you disappear instantly instead of warping away.
Always hit the big red button whenever you get the chance.

the guy undoceked, seconds after a pirate(? was in emipre) raven, there were 2 friendly scorps at the station, plus the one that undocked
one of the scorps got jammed, the one that undocked ctd'd, and got attacked after the "Name" has left local message
the third scorp, had to run for fear of the concordpwnage if he stepped in
to the original posters, please feel free to correct me, as i was in no way involved in this action, just interpreting your posts for the more grammatically inclined amongst us.

the raven pilot was sat outside the station looking at one of our guys in a scorp for ages but didnt get the guts to fire. However when i turned up in a frigate he was only to happy to send a cruise my way, shame he was so*****y and only sent 1 otherwise he might have killed my uber merlin.
I then went back out in my scorp so now he had 2 people to choose from if he wanted a fight and he still didnt fire, he docked instead.
Thats when stevie was told it was safe to undock since there were only 2 of his corp mates outside. Just seconds before he did undock the other guy also undocked. This guy in the raven now had 3 targets to choose from but still doesnt fire. Soon as that nice 'name has left chat' message appears he opens up on 1 scorp, doesnt even bother preparing to take damage by putting on hardeners so hes not expecting anyone to fight back....
I fired a few cruises but with sentries giving me evil looks and 2 more battleships on the way it didnt seem wise to stick around

i think a good idea would be to have a system whereby Eve servers/nodes could detect a CTD situation and warp that person out instantly instead of hanging about in space for several mins to be pwned by lamers ... how i know what you're gna say ...
"WHAT ABOUT THE CAREBEARS WHO LOG OFF TO SAVE THERE SHIPS"
Simple, have the eve servers detect manual log offs and make them sit in space for couple mins after they've logged?
Sounds like a reasonable idea?

The way the system is SUPPOSED to work is fine. Ship tries to warp away, IF it can warp away it dissappears in TWO FULL MINUTES, if it is locked, it can't dissappear, but it can try to warp. If it is warp scrambled, it can't run off.

Still, you had two Scorps there. All you needed to do was to target jam the ship that was warp scrambling Stevie for the few seconds it would have taken him to warp out. After that you'd have warped out, long before they could have called in reinforcements, faster than the sentries could have killed you.

Once i warped to a gate where i knew there was an enemy megathron, so i let him aggress, turned on hardeners and xl shield booster, was about to jump out coz i was still going down and then, bang, eve crashes. I log back on within 30 seconds, and as i log in i see my ship there and i am happy, only to find out it was in the sequence for explosion and boom, it exploded. I was left with my pod to warp out. I was confused as to how i was downed so quickly with 3 hardeners and xl shield boost running, find out in concord mail, modal mega neutrons, gah, and to think we would have killed him.
Anyway, a few days later i petition some guy for something or rather, and also mention this and i got my scorp back, which was kinda cool.
So just do a petition and perhaps you will be reimbursed.

I dont know if this happened before or after the patch where if your in gang your buddyies can step in to help you with out fear of police intervention. but normaly if hostile people are in the area we gang up, unless you got a loose cannon then you let him be in his own gang so he does not bring the wraith of the sentries down on you all. Though most of the time im off in 0.0 space so the sentry guns dont bother me. In short common sense can prevent loses of most Battleships to PVP.

After some experience weve found out that you cant jump in and help group mates anymore if theyre attacked otherwise the sentries will shoot.. You can only fire back if fired upon.

After some experience weve found out that you cant jump in and help group mates anymore if theyre attacked otherwise the sentries will shoot.. You can only fire back if fired upon.

the raven was parked outside our station looking at 2die4's scorp for ages and didnt do anything, that would have been a 1v1 fight and he didnt even try ( thats a 1v1 fight when the raven knew he had 2 battleships waiting to come in as well.. ) But when i dock in my merlin he doesnt hesitate to shoot at me, soon as i pop back out in my scorp he just goes back to chicken mode :P
If he was really looking for a fight, why didnt he attack 2die4 when he was alone outside the station? seems like he was only confident enough to attack frigates and link dead battleships, not the real thing :)
oh and Abras 33km range tempest was amusing too :D

The guy in the raven could choose to attack any of us without worrying about sentries since we all have -5 sec ratings but we cant fire back until were attacked otherwise the sentries will own us since this guy had a neutral sec rating.
On top of the sentries shooting at u, when u fire, u commit ureself since once uve fired u cant redock for a while so u then have to stay out in space. Its not so much of a problem ive u have a decent safe spot but its not normally a good idea to be out in space when theres 3 other guys in battleships lookin for ya ;)
For those people reading this who are pirates or have alot of pvp experience this would have been clear.

All this fuss over a lil bs eh :) Sorry to drag up old topics but I was bored and started to read these forums (rarely do) and found this thread which I didn't even know existed.

As i warpped to a gate in 9-snk, 2 of the Celestial APoc crew entered the system, at the gate.
The Megathron Microwarpped , charged in and released drones...
rammed me and just rail gunned me to death.. Text book Charge and Gank Quite nice actually... very quick! Shariona typed in local "Nice Fight"
And the only way you would know any details is if A:
You, Jazz Bo were there
Or B:
Sharionna told you.
Either way, it took 2 of u to take me down.
I did put up a fight and brought the microed Mega to armor.. but the combination
of the temepst quickly ended me.
As my head of implants is irreplacable.. I did what all smart pods do... log off... and
come back tomorrow after your ass hole heals from the major Rapeing.
So.. to sum... Jazz Bo can Bo my Jazz because hes clueless.

We did not "enter the system" as you warped to the gate. Shariona was at the 6-wt gate when you jumped in and logged off (since back then you couldn't be targeted if you logged off while cloaked), and I only jumped in from B-vip when you logged back on. Everyone needs a welcoming committee

Although I've never done it (check with Stain, they've seen me in a Pod enough ) sometimes logging off is the only way to save a pod, usually I can just warp away instantly, but theres times when I've been lagged and had some lone frig attack me (one of them got my pod down to 1/4 armour) before my game was responsive again.
I dont agree about logging off to save a ship, but if your lagged, I think its ok to do it with a pod.

Ehm, you do know you can turn the join/leave messages on the channels off? I turned them off in the local channel the first day they started appearing and I'm sure a lot of others have too. There is therefore no way you can be sure that the person knew that Stevie had CTD before they opened fire.

The first, well look at the title. These guys began by complaining about people logging off. Just one page later one of their own, Salty, is admitting to doing it himself.
The second, well look at the post about it. Its been edited 3 times over several hours. Are you sure you finally got your story straight?
The third, people actually trying to justify logging off. Its a weak tactic and Fal,, doesnt seem to realize it. Dont you guys know people actually ridicule and put down those who log off? Its not something you want to openly admit. Smart pods warp away, they dont log off Take it like a man, jeesh.

As i only responded honestly to set the record straight, I suggest , Tanador, that you watch your tone. Im sure you'd understand if you've been in a few brawls, the lag when drones come out is enough to freeze your screen .. and ctrl-q is the fastest way to save your head of implants if your pod is on the line. I lost my ship .. im not riskin my implants. Its business, and further more, its a game. So lighten up "oh holeier than thou"
As for editing? Some people like to add some sence and content to their posts. I can tell you think your perfect. Your just wasting my time now.
I had no time to log as Shirona chargged me .. i only had time to release my drones before i was destroyed by the 2 Celest.
So Cheers Jazz Bo. Im glad you could be reminded how the story went. I warped in on you and only ctrl-q'ed when i was in my pod.

Make it so that if you log off during a fight you have a mutiny on your ship and some random ship function stops working :P
