I am experiencing severe keyboard input loss when voice is enabled. Running:
iMac 3.0 GHz OS X 10.5.5 NVidia chipset 4.0GB RAM
Also experience this on 2.0GHz iMac with ATI graphics, OSX 10.5.5, 2GB RAM.
Closing voice greatly improves keyboard input.
I'll also file a bug report on this.

Just an echo that I also have this issue; since it appears to be related to voice chat I guess I will avoid that for now, but that is certainly not a favored solution.
It is, however, a better solution than not being able to use the function keys to toggle guns/equipment in battles; prior to that, this was a minor annoyance (difficult to place buy orders without holding the keys down for a minute or so to get a response) but as time goes on, the input is completely lost.
I also very much dislike having to do a hard kill of the client (which is required as the escape key does not work after a period of time, thus you cannot actually quit the game if you don't know to turn off voice chat.)

I use Ibook 2.4 intel core duo 2GB memory. Game is unplayable with voice activated. No Keybd input ability.

We've logged this issue and are looking into the possible cause. Seems to either cut off keyboard input altogether or impose extreme delays between keystrokes. No eta on a fix yet but we are looking into this.

While typing is fine with Eve Voice disabled, I still get occasional bouts of the game believing I'm holding a modifier key, when I am not. I'll click on something in the overview and it'll try to target it, I'll type "a" in chat and it'll select the whole message (i.e. command+A), etc.
Haven't seen it happen with the shift key yet though. Have yet to encounter random zombie capitalization.

Yes. I also noticed small keyboard related problems in the line of "stuck" modifiers (or unrecognized modifier-click) and such while playing with latest client, rolled-back cider and eve voice disabled. Nothing I can systematically reproduce, unfortunately. But it does make me suspect there's something wrong in the client (as cider was rolled back).

Indeed. The keys go bonkers with Eve Voice on, but I'm also getting a "jiggy" keys when Voice is disabled. Same happens if I have TS on and when I don't. Doesn't make any change to the outcome.
Rather annoying because we just took a systems and Eve Voice is a rather important piece of software while trying to keep your grounds... Stop whining. |

I get sticky modifier keys as well. The fix is always to tap every modifier key once, so it hears a fresh "key down, key up" to reset it. Not, like, a fix-fix. But it makes the game usable.
