Edited by: Janine Frost on 29/11/2008 23:18:32 Edited by: Janine Frost on 29/11/2008 23:16:44 "Your brain, while quite capable of performing many tasks, is still recovering from the ardor of your last skill learning. Please let your neural receptors rest for up to a minute before training again."
Sat in station in Jita, switched a skill, undocked before I got a response from server...during the black screen while undocking I got this error message.
Character sheet shows no skill in training, while the EVE API shows the skill I had chosen to train before undocking in training.
I can't switch to another skill, always get this error message and the char sheet still shows no skill in training.
Already tried relogging and clearing cache.
I will file a petition, but am already posting here hoping for a quicker solution, maybe someone has experienced this problem already. Any help appreciated!

Never seen this message before but had skills glitches before so my suggestion is:
1. Get out of Jita (always helps) and redock in an other systme. Unlog and shut down Eve, wait one minute and start up again.
2. If it persists, right click the skill and you may have the option to pause it. Pause it and the restart it. Sometimes it is a display issue.
I can't think of anything else besides petitioning it.

I had jumped out of Jita before, but not docked.
I tried docking now and waited >1 minute before relogging, as you advised.
Unfortunately the problem persists.
The client behaves as if no skill is in training so I don't have the "pause" option (but the "train to level..." thing which results in the error message).
Thank you for trying to help in any case. Petition has been filed.

To you (superfluous) and all others: Wait 'till the skill is ticking again before undocking/jumping/changing ship/etc.
Normally I'd throw in a jita comment, but it's actually ticking over nicely these days.

Well, that's what I thought.....jita had been working fine recently...
Then I switched skill....and waited and waited.....no response....and finally undocked.....which was a mistake as I know now...

Well, my petition hadn't been answered, I searched around a bit and found several other references to the same problem. One guy had filed a stuck petition and got helped.
So I finally did the same and received a quick answer.
I was told I actually managed to switch the skill despite the message (just like EVE API tells me). The message supposedly goes away either with next downtime or latest when the skill finishes.
I found others have been told the same before...so I'll just wait till downtime :)

I had this happen to me. Manually delete the cache folders in C:\Documents and Settings\Username\Local Settings\Application Data\CCP.
Delete all but the settings sub directory and you are good to go.

"Fatal" was the title of the dialog box that popped up with the error message :) And well waiting didn't help...thanks anyway.

Okay, final update:
After downtime everything had returned to normal as promised. I did not lose any skill training time luckily.
Thanks to all who tried to help. Case closed :)
