Hello,
The CEO of our corp has left the game, but did not resign properly before leaving (simply left an e-mail saying he'd had enough of the game). His character is still shown as the CEO. Me and the other directors are very concerned since this person may sell his account on ebay and someone new would come along and empty the corp hangar. I addition to that we created an alternate who will serve as a dedicated CEO character and should take the reins so that he can train up and we can get more members.
How can we, the directors, force the CEO to step down? Can CCP check if the account is active and help us out? Leaving the corporation and starting a new one is not an option. We have assets spread across 3 regions and one or two factory/research slots we cannot part with.
What do we do? There has to be an in-game mechanic capable of handling this kind of emergency. |

Try looking at pages 58 thru 60 in your EVE manual. Since you did not mention what you have tried to do to this point. Actually I have the heart of an Exploiter and a PKer---I keep them on my desk in a jar. |

If the CEO did not take all the corporate stock for himself, a Director should be able to give shares to 1 or more people and then propose a vote to elect a new CEO.
Available shares can be viewed by a Director or Accountant in the Corporate Wallet.
A Director can issue shares to a member by editing the member in the Corporation screen and selecting the Give Shares tab.

The voting system is currently (at least last week) not working properly. We had the same problem. The old ceo have to sanction the vote atm. Some voting system :-( We were all ready to re-establish corp, but finally old ceo cam online and resigned. |

Our corp has the same problem, we have a MIA CEO and it is holding up our advancement. How do you actually start the vote if it is working, I haven't found anything anywhere about actually starting a vote.

No sense staying on a sinking ship :)

Did you try Emailing the CEO?
you could try a petition but I somehow don't think that will work. IF you do you should include the CEOs email maybe one of the GMs could ask them if they are coming back...but don't hold your breath :/
Good luck
