Since nowadays Warrior IIs are frigs' worst nightmare, I've been looking for an effective replacement for my rifter in solo/small gang PVP, with better explosive resistances, and the merlin sounds like a good candidate:

A nice 5700 EHP with 67% explo resists, and 100 DPS, with full tackle to bring the drones (and the guy) down.
An option would be dropping the web for an invuln field, and maybe the AB for a MWD. Less tackle but tougher tank.
Good/bad?

Much worse tank, can't have full tackle+extender at the same time, and all for a pretty similar DPS.

The Merlin is slow enough that any light drone is a problem not just warriors.

Light drones can usually go over 4-5000.

you gotta be a bit faster then the light drones orbiting speed, so that they follow you instead of orbiting, making tracking them alot easier.
Otherwise youll have to take off the web of your target and put it on the drone, but the setup seems proper to me.
