I flew a pulsesader for a while after they became FOTM... anyway, moving back to 0.0 soon so I'll need to fly an interceptor again occasionally.
It seems to me that I may as well fly an Ares for tacklage, but for those frig gangs I can't really see a reason to change the standard pulsesader setup. 14km seems far enough, and if a web gets on you from a larger ship you can burn in or out of range.
Has anyone else changed their Crusader setups... aside from just going back to beams?

Nah, pretty much same fit still but it has shorter range. Beams suck because you can't kill anything with it. Dps too fail. ----------------------------------------- [Video] The Cruise |

Hey, still better than rockets.
Either way, has anyone been able to squeeze out a fit with medium pulses that actually works? I do believe that it's possible, but I haven't heard from anyone who uses anything but duals. Scorch is a requisite, of course.

I tried to eft a little bit around med pulses and the only thing i could get without the use of fiting implants was this:
[Crusader, New Setup 2] Domination Tracking Enhancer Co-Processor II Micro Auxiliary Power Core I Domination Tracking Enhancer
Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters Faint Warp Prohibitor I
Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch S Medium Pulse Laser II, Scorch S
Auxiliary Thrusters I Auxiliary Thrusters I
you will need AWU at lv.5 and with a 3% range implant you get 15km optimal...i dont think it's worthy over the usual dual pulse locus rigged even after the rig nerf.
I've tried this but failed miserably against a domi :P but i think it's good for dog fights:
1 Heat Sink II 2 Overdrive Injector System II 1 Pseudoelectron Containment Field I
1 Catalyzed Cold-Gas I Arcjet Thrusters 1 Faint Epsilon Warp Prohibitor I
4 Dual Light Pulse Laser II
1 Energy Burst Aerator I 1 Energy Collision Accelerator I

Ah, well. Craptacks then. I can try a little myself, but I doubt I'll be able to come up with a better solution. Maybe a PDS instead of the second tracking link, and a rig instead? I think most people can get hold of the desired implants anyway, even if they aren't that attractive anywhere but on this ship. Damned but T2 frig fittings are always tight...
On the second setup, I wouldn't even try it in the first place. The Crusader is a dagger, not a scimitar; they may look just the slightest bit alike, but you use them in vastly different ways. And in the Sader's case, finesse and swiftness is the game, not close-in, hard-hitting brawling. It has got the MWD sig bonus for a reason...

Edited by: Johann Jeneau on 01/12/2008 12:43:18 yeah, i agree that the ship is made for out of web range fighting, but with the new warp scramblers is actually feaseble to fight inside that range, this is a fit close to my blasteranis, actually i enjoy this more, if you use scorch you'll have around 150dps at 9k, with amarr navy mf 180dps+ at 3km, the hp is similar to a blasteranis.
For me it's not better or worst, is different, faster but 1 less mid, better range, and this less mid is the reason i use the ranis instead of the sader in gangs. I still have my locus rigged pulsader, i just dont like to allways use the same kind of setups.

Sader has pretty standard fittings.
4 x Dual Light II's w/scorch
MWD Scrambler/Disruptor
2 x OD II CPR II
For last low I use Track-Enhancer. Not enough CPU to squeeze in a heat sink.

i would go MWD disruptor for sure taking a scarm is stupid as when you can scarm so can the other and it dies fast :D
also 2 OD II and 2 tracking ench. cap wont last long but long enough.

I use Locus Coordinator (for optimal range) and Metastasis Adjuster (for tracking speed) in the rig slots.
So additional TE in the low's isn't needed.

well, i still have a dual locus rig pulsader laying around... might actually sell it to some1 as its fallen into disuse lately. havent reli tested it too much since QR as a result, but it looks slightly worse off than before. ---------------------------------------------
I may be a bit over Zealot, but i cant help myself, its the best investment i ever made! |
