Anyone know what rewards you can get out of an expedition? I just got one late yesterday evening so I couldn't finish it then. Have to finish it up today I guess.
Just wondering what rewards you might get from it?
So far I've just been flying to the different systems it sends me to, then warp to a spot and kill some ships, then get a new system to fly to.
I tried finding some info on it in the Exploration threads in the stickies but couldn't really find anything. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

varies wildly.
The first expedition ever i got, netted me almost 1 billion worth of faction loot (i was extremely lucky in the final drop).
So generally escalations are worth doing, so a shame you couldnt complete it.

Actually, I finished the 2nd location (killed all the ships) and I got a new location to fly to, about 6 jumps from where I am now.
According to the Journal under the Expeditions tab, there was a timer on the far left that said 23 hours. I assumed this was the timer until the expedition expires?
Thats why I figured I could just log out and pick it up again when I get off work today.
All of the pockets I've been in were escalations. Kill two initial ships, 3 more spawn, then 3 more with higher bounty and so on. -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

Is it in highsec or lowsec or 0.0 ?
A friend was trying out the system scanner in highsec and found a small serpentis site, and got an escalation that ended up with a 4/10 Serpentis complex.
Yes. Yes, I am. |

Hey Shirley :)
It's in high sec. I was kinda not in mood for combat so dragged out my Cov-Ops and did some scanning while finishing up a book.
Got the expedition starter in 0.8 -------------------------------------------------- "Every complex problem has a solution which is easy, neat and wrong!" |

Expedition loot is highly luck based. Most often I find you get little more then a story to tell (in 0.0 the stories can get good). But sometimes you get loot in a big way!

Edited by: Krets on 03/12/2008 12:30:10 for DED complexes, security staus does matter. You get better complexesthe lower the security status is (risk/reward etc.).
However, escalations can send you randomly to high or nullsec, even though you started out in lowsec.
My best loot was the third and last escalation of "Save the Slaves", which happened to end up in a 0.6! So for escalations sec status doesnt matter, lootwise :-) And i could complete it in perfect safety. Was a bit surprised but i think thats the reward for being a persistent explorer.
