Downtime not during European lunch time!

They have laptops. Which leads to: during lunchtime is the best time to game one hour. Which leads to: change downtime to USA lunchtime or something! Changing skill training is hard enough as a new player with all the 2h skills without losing lunchtime to do it in! Thx!

To the OP: In the summertime downtime is 13:00 to 14:00 thanks to DST, so you get your wish in a few months. Sorry son, thats not how it works. Umm.. then how does it work? An hour is simply a rounded figure; since the QR patch, TY has been up 15-30 minutes earlier even if not accepting connections. It's a plain r/l fact that the same day-today job never takes exactly the same amount of time, each time - even in IT. An hour is what CCP chose in order to provide a buffer and to make things simple for the players. All I'm saying is that figure could be and should be revised and reduced at some point.

You basically answered your own question. 2. Most of the DT stuff has nothing to do with the chosen few servers (Hint, not all the servers are on 64bit, only the most used, as they explained in a devblog somewhere, putting the less-used servers on a 64bit OS would be cost inefficient and ultimately pointless). From what i understand of the DT mechanics from the past 2 and a half years of seeing dev's reply to this type of thread, it is 1 hour because that is what works. Sometimes they still need longer than an hour, sometimes they dont. 3. Also, when TQ is not accepting connections, that does not mean that the server is running well, infact thats usually a sign CCP are doing something but it requires the server running.
