I have looked through battleclinic.com, but most of the fits there DONT fit. i run out of CPU or CAP before i can fully fit.
So what is the best gallente cruiser for DPS/PvP? and what is the best setup?
Also, what is the best PvE setup for a gallente cruiser? I had a thorax, but it got popped by station guns while engaging a convoy...so i need a new ship for PvE too.

everyone keeps telling me to put blasters on my PvP ships...but my experience is that blasters are 100% ineffective.
I have never used a blaster that didnt "miss completely". even inside the fall-off range. _____________________ *warp drive acti...wait, where are we going?*

How about getting into optimal then...

I have tried using blasters as close as 1500m still no effect. maybe im missing a skill somewhere that helps with their accuracy? _____________________ *warp drive acti...wait, where are we going?*

Unless your in a Battleship, always set your orbit to 500m in a blaster boat imo. And the skill your thinking of is Motion Prediction. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use an image that will display - Fallout

Ive always had good luck with this set-up, and Ive always liked not being cap dependent. One thing Ive thought about recently is switching to T2 Auto Cannons, I don't like not being able to shoot my target because my energy has been neutralized.

maybe i should rephrase myself.
give me something affordable. i realize that T2 is the best. but i am a 2.5M SP character so i dont have skills to T2 everything. _____________________ *warp drive acti...wait, where are we going?*

"Always" is a dangerous word to put in a thread like this. While I agree that 500m is about 99% correct for frigate sized (except maybe a null using AF), one can run into problems with tracking in a cruiser sized blaster boat with that orbit choice depending on what you are fighting and what they have fitted, in which case 1000m is the correct choice. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ "Brought to you by the letter ARRR!" |

"Always" is a dangerous word to put in a thread like this. While I agree that 500m is about 95% correct for frigate sized, one can run into problems with tracking in a cruiser sized blaster boat with that orbit choice depending on what you are fighting and what they have fitted, in which case 1000m is the correct choice.
I say always because you very rarely actually orbit at 500m due to velocity and all that junk. Usually you wind up in 1000m-1500m range. ===== * Your signature file is broken. Please use an image that will display - Fallout

blasters are nice, best tracking in game. if your having problems hitting your foe your foe (except missiles)will probably have grater trouble hitting you. the key to suxes is knowing exactly how far at how much transversial you need to be and how fast you can allow yourself to be moving at that distance+transe. id go as far as to say the "blasternerf" is actually a blaster buff hands down. (i am not willing to discus this matter with those how always bring the same old arguments no mater what the facts.)
both ships are excellent for solo but there are areas where one is better then the other and maybe some more dps on the thorax on expense of 2-3k ehp isn't so wrong depending on the situation. and a vexor is flexible and also a go fore hunting on a gate for a few seconds cos drones can take fire (risky however). Id suggest getting yourself a few of both ships and fitting them cheapish. try out what fittings and ship you prefer. If you want to go with gallente you will eventually want drone and gunnery skills so go ahead and skill the basic skills of both up to 3-4 and just see what you prefer skilling first. ------------------------------ Q: what happens when an EVE player quits EVE to play WOW A: the Average IQ of both goes up |

hmm a tuff one , tbh a vexor with only 4 med/small drones will do you no good. at least :
drone 5 drone interfacing 4 combat drone ~4 gallente/other race drone spec 2-3 electronic warefare drone 3 scoutdrone operation 4 durabilety 2-3 navigation sharpshooting 3-4
for blasters your looking at at least
weapon upgrades 4-5 (if 5 then advanced weapon upgrades to at least 3-4) gunnery 4-5 rapid firing 4-5 small hybrid 3 medium hybrid 4 surjical strike, trajectory, controlled burst, sharpshooting 3-4
sorry but eve is hard if you want to go pvp it will take a while but i can tell you that pvp in a tristan or similar is lots of fun and cheap experience. then of course it is wise to skill some of the basic frigate skills up higher then absolutely needed for a cruiser. i bet you'll have more success with frigates anytime soon anyways.
