With the insane trit prices in Jita at the moment, anyone else that reprocesses raking in mucho isk from their back log of inventory?
Its even gotten to the point where traveling out to Tash melting stuff down is worth the time investment. |

I don't ever remember seeing such an appetite for trit ( we do know why though). More industrial expansions please CCP.
At current prices mining with Orca backup is worth in the teens M ISK/hr. Question of interest: will the miners/farmers be able to effect demand and bring prices down.
The prices are changing quickly enough I melted some purchased Domis yesterday.

Holy ****!
Man, how the hell did I miss that?
Oh right, I was busy buying up a metric ****-ton of Fullerides at ~320 p/u. Note there current price. Guess how I'm paying the dividend for Kwint Industries this month. :)
Getting back on topic though, I think I need to get into the reprocessing game. Especially now that my JF isn't seeing much action. Now seems like an excellent time to start seeding low sec hubs with low value buy orders. I don't suppose someone has a location they'd like to see get 50% of reprocess value orders put in? If you're trying to sell something at a low sec hub the buy orders will attract a some people, people that may ultimately buy whatever you're selling so there's no reason this can't be mutually beneficial. Seriously, if you have something in mind drop me an eve-mail.

Besides its not just limited to minerals as well, as Kwint pointed out the T2 chain is experiencing some wonky behavoir, and the rig market is about cracked as well. I just melted down close to 400 rigs yesterday, and started reselling the components.
Fried, Burned, and Tripped circuits are all experiencing their own nice little bubble right now. |

I am annoyed I only had 9B to drop into minerals pre-patch.
Need a war chest for the next patch.
Then I can be like the naughty oil hauders buying up oil now and putting into storage. Oil for delivery Dec 09 is $60/barrel.

It's certainly causing some friction in the mineral compression market. By the time I finish work on an order, it's getting to the point where I'm almost better off melting everything down again --- Can't afford that BPO? Look here. 20:1 mineral compression The EVE f@h team |

Uncharted waters if you ask me, sure we've seen trit prices spike like this before. But last time that happened it was partially artificial from speculation. Makes me wonder just how much lower this is going to drive some of the other low ends, and their residual effect on the high ends.
If your in the mineral speculation business, I'd imagine you're salivating for the climatic peak coming soon here. |

I dont think it will last much longer. Most of it is caused by the orcas, 47m trit a pop sucks up a lot of trit lol.
But, miners are diverting to trit mining, so supply is rising, helped by all these orcas being built.
Orcas were pretty stable at 800m, but are now dropping, once it gets low enough, peeps will start stuffing the bpo's in the labs, and build levels will drop which will reduce demand for trit and thus prices will drop.
It interesting, that this is the biggest trit spike i can recall, i think due to the removal of the 3.6 shuttle cap.

I was under the impression that several alliances had lost many capital and supercapital ships in a number of very large engagements just recently.
So really, this huge Tritanium spike seems to me to be due to Stackless IO.

While I havent been around much in game the last +month, I understand that the next trit cap was also taken out. The civ AB, which was capping trit at 3.6-3.9(depending on the prices of the other minerals in the mix).
Someone who has been more active the last +month, want to c/d the Civ AB "nerf"? --

This is a good point. Anyone have an idea of how these upgrades have affected warfare in Eve? Is Mara's claim correct?

The AB nerf happened sometime this Summer. Otherwise it'd have never passed 3.9 or so. Don't know what the next trit cap is.

Confirmed: Civilian AB now 61 trit and costs around 19k isk.
Hehehe, well I guess I have been really been distracted since summer, I just continue to decieve myself that it has only been the last month or so.
Saw bulk trit going for 4.15 a bit ago, and not very much of it either.
Will be intresting to see if CCP plans to do anything or not. I dont really care one way or the other, but I can see a rising surge of whinage occuring if the upward trend on trit and the connected downward trend on zyd and mega continues.
I think ill run off and start a new thread.... --

Edited by: Lieutenant Obvious on 05/12/2008 14:37:22 Orca introduction created demand. At same time or JUST before, NC vs GBC wiped out around 150 to 200 dreads and carriers, several titans and motherships in less than a week. Multitudes of BS fleets wiped out in the same conflict, which had been waging for months and climacted with the M-0, E-0 and Obe capital graveyards. Several more titans have gone down in the following few weeks up north.
Further capital fighting occuring down south now, but the North has slowed a bit.
Temp spike due to increased demand, expecting a big fall in a month or so as supply is increased and the demand spike lays flat.
Edit: Unless Goons and AAA/GBC get a hard on and try to do each other out of a cap fleet.

So perfect storm of conditions then. We already had a depressed mineral basket with trit trending upwards anyway, couple that with patch day madness and a new sub-capital ship (which uses half the mins of what a freighter takes) and the capital losses experienced...
Interesting, makes me wonder just how hard its going to crash in about 30 days. |

What happens when you melt cap ships?
Do you get cap modules or minerals?
There will soon be an interesting anomoly in the cap market!!

Interestingly although lots of caps have been destroyed over the past 6 weeks my capital sales have fallen, initially there was a big spike with the GBC/NC losses and I was shifting a lot of ships, however since the redeployment down south my sales have been steadily decreasing, with the trit/noc/zyd increases in price my margins have declined and yet the prices of caps have only increased by maybe 5%.
At this point my Orca sales and mineral manipulation is whats pulling in the cash, most of my sales for the past 2 weeks for carriers/dreads have been my usual repeat customers.
My theory is that as the replaced caps were destroyed and prices increased many who had lost more then 1 cap in recent weeks either chose not to replace them or to wait for there own alliance replacement programs to kick in, this has led to the massive rises in trit which ultimately can't help the alliances doing it as they A. don't replace losses as quickly, B. There cap builders margins are already razor thin, C. Getting people back into capitals who have had a chance to play in slightly less "boring conditions" in fleet battles may prove to be hard.

I think you'll see another boost here in cap sales Xabier, within a few weeks.
In the cap modules market, I had an initial slow down a month or two ago. Enough that I had to put a print or two out of circulation. Now however I'm back up to 100% rotation on them.
It roughly corresponds with the amount of carriers I've moved in the last 3 months as well. |

Oh definitely, I think a lot of cap pilots just became shy for a bit, now the norths calming down relatively speaking I'm expecting quicker sales, your definitely right over the mods though, I noticed the same thing.

Xabier, your capital sales spike would be attributed to both sides buying immediate replacements to get their fleets back up to standard after the big graveyard battles. Both sides knew they had to get their cap numbers raplced immediately or the other side would capitalize (no pun intended) on the situation.
Now (and since a few weeks back) that the North has stopped seeing cap fleet battles, more and more replacements will be getting sorted internally. Also, corp or alliance owned capitals would likely have been purchased instantaneously to be replaced, while personal owned caps would wait to get a better deal, or BYOM, or whatever.
Reminds me of large antimatter ammo during the Delve/Querious campaign 2 years back, we were constantly cleaning out all of empire (no matter the cost)as we were using BS fleets down there, and over a few months antimatter L was double its original cost.

I did what I could and sold off all my minerals, btw thank you Kazzac, I hadn't been watching because I did my mineral buying last week and I was gearing up to do capital production.
Now I skipped the production and just sold my minerals at 2 times what I bought them at.
Really, thank you Kazzac.

Not seen this live, but it's a common thing to happen right after content patches that add new shiny things. Add ontop of that the loads of people that knew of this beforehand and a spike is a certainty.
