Has anyone figured out how to find the locations that are stated in these logs that are dropped by npc's?

the exact location is pretty much given right in each log. look for mention of the system name, then combine that with any mention of a planet or moon, and that is the location. post an example if it is still confusing or ask in the help chan.

Have those things been updated so that they actually have something worthwhile there? Usually it's a ridiculously far away and has nothing of worth there...
I usually just refine them for free Nocxium...

Exactly - most of hte items I Found during my trial of the 14 days I just refined.
At the end I had an Imicus, 4.3 Million Isk, 250,000 Tritanium - 55,000 Mex - 2,000 Nocxium - 9 Zydine - 15 Megacyte - 25,000 Isogen and more. Just from refining items I found through logs.

Try doing Agent missions for Cash, with my 2nd account by the time i was 3 weeks in i had 30+mil a Caracal, a Kestrel, a Badger II without melting the loot from kill missions and without selling and loot or rewards
