hello all ,
i am quite new to the game .i have just skilled up to pilot industrials and i can use both Caldari & Gallente industrials. i read the threads on mining fits for badger & iteron but they weren't quite clear.
both the ships in question are more or less equal :
Badger mk 2 = slots 2 + 6 + 3 & cargo 5250
Iteron V = slots 2 + 5 + 5 & cargo 6000
i am a solo miner and plan to mine only in belts of 1.0 to 0.5 . both the ships can fit a turret & a launcher. so , i thoughjt i'd go for a miner 2 + mmissile launcher with f.o.f missiles ( for the npc rats in the belts )
and for mining purposes , maybe use some MLU as well. i am not sure about the exact setup which is good for my purpose , that's why i have posted here.
please provide me with a good mining setup which will enable me to solo mine in 1.0 to 0.5 and i dont mind running back to a station each time the cargo hold is full , as i dont prefer jetcan mining.

A mining hauler is only for the people who want to mine afk. And even then the income is terrible.
What you want is a mining barge. Or, one of the mining cruisers. 
Real men do it the hard way: fly Minmatar! |

i would suggest u get yoursrelf an osprey, caldari mining cruiser, or the retreiver mining barge

Dude,
DonÆt mine in a hauler. Thy donÆt mix.
I mined at first like you. Get a Osprey, use it to mine. Mine into a number of anchored cans. When full, fly back and get the hauler to get the minerals. Repeat. Etc....
Much better.
The hauler can defend itself enough if any rats happen to pot up during your ôhaulingö phase. Set it up with a 150mm rail and shield booster and amps. It will survive a rat attack and even pop one as well while collecting.
I know because I did exactly that in the same security sectors.

The above posters are correct, do not invest time in a mining industral. If you can fly Caldari ships get an Osprey which has a 20% per Crusier Rank bonus to mining laser output. Equip it with three Mining Lasers (and them Miner II's as soon as you can) and shielding. Three or four T1 drones, of the right damage type for the rats in the local belts, will keep you safe. This is the best mining rig short of a Rokh or a Covetor/Hulk. With your mining skills around level III or IV and your crusier rank around III or IV an Osprey can pull in about 450 m3 of ore per minute.

Plus T1 Industrials can't fit Missiles laucners.
