Hey all,
I am missing 1 point of my starting attribute points and letting everyone here know, so you can check for yourself and see if you are missing one too.
It was all a coincidence that I found out I am missing an attribute point, I was helping my newbie friend to startup his character, when I realised that I started with 1 stat less then him. I did some research on it and everyone should have 39 starting stats, while I only have 38. I calculated this from my current stats : 22 - 22 - 20 - 22 - 20, with all basic learning skills at 5 and all advanced learning skills at 4 and +3 implants, using the formula : Base stats = roundup ( displayed_attrib/(1+ Learning_lvl*0,02) ) - basic - advanced - implant
I also checked my XML file from "My Character" Here is a copy/paste from the character xml : <attributes> <intelligence>8</intelligence> <memory>7</memory> <charisma>7</charisma> <perception>8</perception> <willpower>8</willpower> </attributes>
So all this time I was missing 1 stat, I just petitioned this, and hope CCP can resolve this.
So people, better start checking those stats ...
Greetings, CyberGh0st.

When did you create your character? I think there was a time when you could continue character creation without allocating all 5 distributable attribute points (which is no longer possible).
Also, would you be so kind to go to http://ineve.net/ and show your information using your api? That'll prevent any user error in the calculations

Copying directly from the Character Sheet XML provides the raw bases attributes.
Since the OP already provided a copy-paste of the XML, user error (in diagnosis) is unlikely to be the issue. However, user error during character creation is the most likely cause.
As Estel said, you should no longer be able to create a character without fully assigning attributes. However, if the character was created before then, you could have lower attributes if you did not assign all 5 extra points.

BTW - here is a reference to when that change was made: It is no longer possible to create a character without distributing all attributes.
Revelations 1.4: that's a long time to be missing an attribute point.

Hey, thanks for looking that up and giving me that link.
And yah, it has been a long time, but I don't mind, I just hope CCP will be able to help me, I really hope they can help me, cause it was then indeed user error.
I even told my newbie friend "it can't be user error, cause you can't continue without allocating all stats" so he was right after all when he said I prolly forgot to allocate a point :(

have you done a petitioned / bug reported?
if this is a true problem I think ccp should do a database check to find the people who have this problem and offer them an extra attribute point.

Yes I have petitioned this, before I made my 1st post here, still waiting, I think a regular gamemaster can't change this kind of stuff, I am sure someone higher in the ranks need to look at this, and it is weekend now too, so prolly have to wait till monday.
But the problem is true, no doubt about that. What probably happened is that I tried to add more then 3 points to 1 stat, which isnt possible( I didnt know/realize that before ), and then thought I had allocated all stats and clicked next.
I'll let yall know what happens with the petition.

Even if they do confirm that you accidentally failed to apply all points, I doubt they'll let you add it now. People have been asking for the ability to redo their original allocations for years without success. |

Respecing the attriutes and being given one that should have been there from the start at one time without being able to change it after that are 2 completely different things. I'm not saying he will be allowed to do this, just that he may be.

Edited by: CyberGh0st on 08/12/2008 13:04:57 Hmm, it would really suck if they do not want to give me the missing point ...
They acknowleged that it is a problem because they fixed the cause in revelations 1.4 , so one would think that they would give me the missing point.
If not, then I don't think I can live with this character anymore and would rather start from scratch, well, probably will delete this one and play with alt, there is a 4 million SP difference tho :( not to mention loyalty points and agent standing.

Don't delete the character until you need the slot for something else. You might find a use for him in the future, even with the gimped attribute. My original character has been suplanted by this one because the original had a base perception attribute of 3. Even though he can't train combat skills very fast, he is still as useful character with over 42 million skill points. With your perfectly balanced attribute only missing one point, you aren't so bad off that it would be wise to biomass a two year old character over it. Just shift him to the "alt" status.
I expect that the biggest issue with fixing the missing attribute is the length of time between when you character was created with the missing attribute and when you are reporting the bug/loss: it has been over 2 years. The Reimbursement Policy states "All reimbursement requests must be sent within a week from when the loss occurred. After that time we will not provide reimbursement."
Still I think that it is likely that you will be able to get the missing attribute added, but I wouldn't expect them to make up for the training time that you might have lost because of it.
To speed up your petition, I would suggest that you figure out where you want that attribute point added, and make sure that it is possible for your choosen race/bloodline/ancestry.

Yes, I agree, lost training time is lost, it would be too complicated to reimburse that. And yah, it has been a long time, I just never knew it could happen and that it happened to me. And I know where I want the stat, +1 mem, so my stats are 8 - 8 - 7 - 8 - 8 so it is the same as my alt ( same race and bloodline etc ). I already asked this in my petition.
Well I sure hope they will fix this, not knowing is atm the hardest part :p
And yes, I won't delete my old character, I will just make my alt my main and my main my alt.

In the end it is just one point. If you are happy with your skills and abilities, then why delete the character? One point isnt going to make that huge of a difference .. maybe a small amount per year, but nothing to get too upset over imho. --------------------------

I'm pretty misbalanced, but even after I found that out 3-4 months in, I kept at it. In fact, I prefer it this way.
I have poor memory, which has been a curse, so I've almost always had the biggest memory implant I could afford. Intel and will were even, and not so bad, perception was almost double everything else, making ships and weapons training a pleasure. And poor neglected charisma wasn't neglected in me, being about even with intel/will, even though I didn't add any points to it at all at char creation.
Your attributes make you unique. Why would you want super evened attributes? +31 perception is cool from time to time. Makes those BS V and cap ship skills fly. -=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=-=- PROPOSAL: Chaos Incarnate's Face MMORPG: Many Men Online Role Playing Girls |

Perc is my worst stat, intel my best. The others are all at 7. Gave me lots of problems early on. But back then I thought, "Gah, I can't waste two months by rerolling". Now this char is more than four years old. Sigh. Then again, I kinda stopped caring. But Battleship V was a major bunghole.

Well it is a big deal for me, I wan't those ideal 25-25-24-25-25 stats :(
on my first char i got 25-25-23-26-25 (charisma at start will at end). Stupid thing is when I did my second character for some stupid reason I went stupid on attributes and put waaaay to many in willpower =s (base 7-7-3-14-8) now I wish I could reroll and put them in perc or mem. 2nd alt is (6-8-12-8-8) and will hopefully do much better.

Woot, they gave me +1 to Memory :p
I wonder if they really checked if it was even possible for my Race, Bloodline and Ancestry ;p
However, a warning to those who have the same issue and want to get it fixed :
The 1st GM said he couldnt do it, 2 times, until I said "It's just a digit in the database, I am sure a database admin can fix that".
After waiting a bit more another ( senior ? ) GM said he would relay it to the Database Team and see "if they may be able to fix it" so I had a little bit of hope then, but was still worried !
But now it is fixed, I am so happy :)

I did the same thing. But it's not a big deal anymore with maxxed out learning skills and +5 implants, at least Charisma is my gimped stat. I have a 2nd account, with fixed stats, and it will probably take another year to catch up with skill points, and willpower is a primary stat on all tech 2 ships so it helps alot there.
from my XML - <attributes> <intelligence>7</intelligence> <charisma>3</charisma> <perception>7</perception> <memory>8</memory> <willpower>14</willpower> </attributes>
