Edited by: Hellfire 000 on 08/12/2008 19:13:46 Edited by: Hellfire 000 on 08/12/2008 19:11:30 The topic below is the proof that something needs to be done about customer support. as i stated before all most every one in eve has suffer from poor customer support or CS as i like to call it. I have basically been told to go F*** my self from many gms in the pass from ship losses due to server shut downs lost billions do to in game bugs and have even got a permanent ban with out any prior warning (which that ban also happens to be my first offense). Something needs to be done and i like from every one in the eve community to come forward and share there story and shed some light on improvement that can be made.
Old topic that was locked due to bad customer support ------------------------------------------------------------------------- as one of my friends said and i quote on our private alliance fourms
"Wow, just wow.
"Irrelevant topic", not even "wrong forum for this, moving to X".
That is some ****ty ass customer service right there. Translation: "You don't like having been told to go **** yourself once? Our reply: Go **** yourself. There, now it's two times. Feel better?" --------------------------------------------------------------------------
I do not want to be silence even it it means I'm a martyr for a cause. So please read and post something to help a cause. We are paying these guys hard earn irl isk all i ask is for better CS. I have rolled with the punch's from the many nerfs that were done in this game only thing i ask to be done is improvement to CS.
On a side note this topic probity will be locked and i will get perma baned again and let this also be prof.

I feel the problem lies with people making petitions about things that don't offend them just to grief other players. Like when you were a child you ran off to a teacher if you didn't like something your friend was doing and you could do nothing about it. I feel the problem lies with in the eve community.

Having worked in customer service before, it's all about keeping the customer happy, or at least trying to. Unsatisfied customers cease being customers and are more than willing to share that bad experience with anyone who will listen. End result- fewer customers and fewer new customers.
I myself haven't been subject to an Eve CS horror story, but I've heard of dozens without even trying to find them. Somewhere in the CS department there should exist some mechanism to review the quality of support individual employees are giving to customers. Some manager should be pulling people aside, having chats about why such poor service is happening, discussing resolutions for them, and future preventative measures.
The simple thing that could go a long way would be a "We'll look into it" and actually doing so. If there's abuse of the petition system coupled with terrible customer service, something needs to be done to fix it. Bans and perma-bans that are later found to be unnecessary are inexcusable. The goal of customer service is to get things right the first time- it reduces workload, leads to happier customers, and more importantly doesn't cause a loss of customers.
My two cents. Here's hoping/pleading for discussions to remain civil and level-headed, both to keep the discussion pertinent and constructive, as well as lending weight for why this thread should not be locked. |

I have had excellent support on this product. Just saying... I haven't lost a ship during warp though, doesn't insurance cover that? How do you pay support with ISK? hadn't seen that feature yet... Does it mean something to martyr oneself in a virtual game world? Will you be remembered? Well hey.. If you offing yourself gets me better support in the future I am all for it! I will remember you! You gave it all up so I could have fun with great support.. You rock!!

I can't even get the decency of a reply, my petition was just deleted.
I don't write nasty or silly petitions I keep them professional because I expect my petition to be handled professionally.
Basically I lost 2 Giant Secure Containers with a few 100 million isk in them. Not that a few 100mill is a big deal but its pretty significant with only a few months in that game, which happens to be my case.
What happened was I try to put these containers in the corp hanger and get a warning that you may not be able to retrieve items that I put in, I'm fine with that, but then I get an error message saying I do not have permission to remove items from this hanger. Which is odd since I was trying to put stuff in, not remove it. No problem I think I'll just try try the other container, but I had the same issue. I looks to see if they were still in my inventory and they were and I figure its just some weird lag problem, log off for a few min and come back and try again only to find both containers missing.
So I file a petition after awhile of trying to figure out what could have happened on my on with pretty much the same description of what happened. I check back later that day, so see I have no petitions and no response. Kinda lame imo.

Normally I would say that EvE customer support is reasonable, because it often is.
However, I lost a ship last night without warning or any discernible reason. I had no aggression countdown, my sec status and faction standing are both within tolerable limits (both are above -2.0). So I filed a petition - not for reimbursement, mind, as all I lost was a Tristan worth about 8 million isk - in which I politely and clearly related the unusual circumstances regarding the loss. All I really want is an explanation of the problem, or perhaps an intelligent, useful reply of any sort. What I got, however, was a poorly written (The grammar was so horrid that I read some sentences twice or more) paragraph outlining Global Criminal countdown and warning me not to jump systems while I have it. I've been playing the game as a PvP exclusive character for nearly 2 years. I know what GCC is. I also know that I didn't have it at the time of my loss. This was clearly and simply stated in the petition. I don't mind a slow response, I don't even care about the loss. However, I would appreciate if the GMs would at least read my petitions before replying to them.
My poorly placed topic regarding to the loss and circumstances thereof

I've been playing since Jan 2006 and I've only had to petition twice in that time.
The most horiible was losing an officer fitted Vindicator - mission stuck on me. But I have to say the CCP handled it very courteously. Immediate reply saying they were looking into it and would get back to me. Second about a week later to say they'd been through the logs and could not find any problems with the game or the server. Sadly, I'd also discovered, in that week, that my ISP had some serious problems so it was just down to lag.
I wasn't happy but I can't fault CCPs handling of my petitions.
