Edited by: Emalyn Throsar on 09/12/2008 07:29:01 I'd imagine ancient Terran stuff is Tech 10
Edit: in the tousands of years since, if the home system is still populated it'd be Tech 100 now

Assuming the Terrans haven't destroyed themselves or gone into any such 'dark ages' as the EVE people have, then the Terrans would be miles ahead of Jove tech. _____________ Hai. |

tech 3 im assuming might be ancient technology or naval technology. Perhaps old jove tech from their first empire or something who knows. Im sure ccp will hae some storyline might even be drones developing new technology and some captured ancient and drone ships combiend in secret reserach labs

Yeah some sort of anchient technology i guess. Thats what the devs mentioned at fanfest. And the materials will only be able to be collected from random wormholes. these will open and close apparently all over new eden. This hopefully will stop the power blocs of 0.0 from hording them. Like they do with moons etc now.

Actually, I've heard otherwise. Wormholes open up to constant systems that are on the map but hidden. Big Alliances will own them all shortly. _____________ Hai. |

Well we will see when the devs release more information about them.

In reference to the novel. terran tech was used by jamyl to defeat the minimatar invasion fleet and in existance accross new eden are old gates and stations and in the new eden system near the eve gates lies artifacts that are shielded from our vision etc by the jovian's.

I have high hopes. because the entrance ways should be random (hopefully) it means no annoying gate camps with Iwin heavydics into these systems. These systems will be probably (and logically be) 0.0 so anything can happen. I see these places being fiece battlegrounds.
Im intrested to know the kinds of rats they'll be. Im betting drones of various kinds, and maybe mutants.

How cool would it be if they did shift randomly, and you enter the space in empire and the wormhole exit randomly then shifts location in normal space and you pop out somewhere in 0.0 laden with valuable stuff.
its gonna be a whole new line of gang to cope with such wierdness.

Assuming it will be tied to archaeology then it will be based on Yan Jung, Takmahl, Talocan, and Sleeper technologies.
Given that the plan was/is for a total of five tech levels that would leave Jovian and Terran for future releases.

A Wormhole opens and a T3 Terran fleet will cleanse new Eden from this mess. T3 small smartbomb has a range 250km :D Image a DOOOOOOOMSDAY ;)
I think there are many posibilitys to implement T3. Maybe as arefacts [like Officer-Loot], maybe new inventions. Maybe even a new Data-Core Lottery ;)

easy way to solve this:
put them in 0.0 AND low sec, this way, alliances get only a small share of the t3 industry, plus, it will give more rewards for venturing out to low sec

Disallow claiming of sovereignty. No jump bridges, no cyno arrays. It would be pretty hard for anyone to monopolize that if the entry wormhole moves around with any sort of frequency.

I doubt there will ever be tech designated as "terran" unless it's some useless trade good. Why?
Scaling and comparison.
There used to be a game (Traveller, around the 80ies or 90ies I think) where they gave out the capacitor of the ship computers in real world units. They put in some insane numbers for that time, only to be outclassed by the real world a few years later. "Hurhur, my science fiction ship has less RAM than my pocket calculator!".
That's why I think "terran" stuff will stay just like the Jove gear (that is outclassed nowadays) - unobtainable.

The whole concept of higher tech levels is meaningless really. 'Tech 5' - so what, in name only? I like how they are going with Tech 3, not as Tech 2 with some oomph but as a different tech path altoegther. I don't think it's terran technology though, perhaps just new construction methods thanks to new materials found via exploration etc

i will be very disappointed if it's only available in 0.0, which will mean only the super-alliances will get to enjoy the new exploration encounters, and then sell the loots to the rest of us.
worm holes should be able to open anywhere - the laws of science don't care about politics ~~~~ ~~~~ ~~~~ Take away the risk and it would make flying around in space utterly pointless.
Take away the flying around part and you make EVE into a space themed spreadsheet application. |

It will be both in high, low and null sec. However i believe the wormholes lead to 0.0 sec systems, so you can get shot there. ---------------------------------------------

but the idea is you can't build in them, and I bet some will have size resritions. Oh boy the days of no capital ship PVP will be back!
I mean if there is no cyno you can't use capital ships :)
oh maybe we'll have some ninja mining too.
