Hey guys,
I am looking for a "good" shield booster to put on a L4 mission running Nighthawk, but money most definitely IS an object. What do you consider the best bang for my buck in medium or large shield boosters on a mission running command ship?
I'd browse contracts but I am at work and probably won't be back in game for until tomorrow night so I'm asking for a bit of help/info. Yes I'm at work but my mind is on EVE :) Thanks!

I could only point you to the contracts as well, but maybe you find something at
http://www.eve-central.com/
I doubt it though as the deadspace gear cannot be sold on the market. It's a good site to know in any case.

TBH you don't need a fancy booster for L4's in a Nighthawk.
Just fit; 2 LSE's, 2 purger rigs and 1 SPR, 2 if you're shy on skills and an AB. You'll want an AB anyway for salvaging obviously but the damage reduction it gives you is significant. Resist and drones to taste.
It's a rat shooting machine. And a dull one at that but efficient.

But... I LIKE fancy! :D
So, questions about npc BS torps... 1) is the Nighthawk's sig radius so big that adding more to it (LSEs) won't make a difference in the amount of damage taken from Torps? 2) will moving at 360m/s with an AB reduce the damage from npc torps to any extent?

If you keep your NH sig radius to the natural 285, you're reducing incoming torp damage by 30% or so. You don't need an AB to reduce damage. Going with an active setup will help you keep your sig radius low. Go with 2xPithi A small boosters if you don't want to break the bank but want to stay active. Once you have the cash, get a Pithum A medium, which does the same job as 2x smalls and frees up one of your mids. Fill up your lows with BCUs and perhaps a cap mod.

Meh just go passive. NH (2x LSE, recharger, 2x kinetic / 2x shield power relay) can pretty much tank every guristas mission that exists. Above tank (+ hardener swap) enabled me to run all of missions except for "vs faction" ones (not because they are too hard for me - but i dont like losing standings).

EDIT: Pithi B smalls are cheaper than Pithi As, so I replaced my suggestion to reflect that
I was thinking about going with dual small Gisti-Bs; i use that on my Cerb sometimes. I'll have to see how they compare to the Pithis.
I'm like 3 grid short of my optimal passive setup, grrrr, guess I need to get a +PG implant in slot 6.

I use this set up for level 4s. The EM screen is in there because i do a lot of Sansha/Blood raider missions. This set up has worked great for level 4 missions. I bought the shield boosters for about 30mill each so they shouldnt break the bank.
[Nighthawk, Small pithi b booster] Damage Control II Power Diagnostic System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II Ballistic Control System II
Pithi B-Type Small Shield Booster Pithi B-Type Small Shield Booster Photon Scattering Field II Photon Scattering Field II Heat Dissipation Field II
Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile Heavy Missile Launcher II, Thunderbolt Heavy Missile [empty high slot]
Anti-EM Screen Reinforcer I Capacitor Control Circuit I
Hobgoblin II x5
Tanks 733dps from Sansha in this config. If you want more dps you can invest in a set of caldari navy launchers. With good cap skills it is cap stable.
