It's not going to happen. I'm sorry to sound so negative, but it's simply not. I love Eve - have done for a long time now, but the rate of which the Mac Client is going backwards, I can't see there ever being an option for Premium graphics on the Mac.
All the effort is put into the new features and upgrades for the Windows Client, whereas us Mac users have to either contend with constant drops out, keyboard input failures, graphical glitches and endless bugs. Or we use something like Parallels, which completely defeats the object of having an Apple Mac.
Now (in referral to another topic) I'm sure there's a breach of Statutory Rights in the fact that we are paying a company for a product that does not meet the terms and conditions of use, but hey, we can't do anything about it.

Awww now come on, that's not fair! I was just being truthful - I'm no liar! I said I love Eve, and I do; the feeling of knowing I have just blown up a large portion of some guys wallet, the fun I have tearing through missions, the relaxed knowledge that all the Dense Veld I just mined is going to make a decent amount of ISK, and then the cold, matter-of-fact feeling of "oh shi-" when 13 really unfriendly Capital ships jump into the same system as me.
But none of that happens anymore when playing on my iMac.

At FanFest I sat in on the MAC roundtable, and one of the items they showed us was Premium graphics - running on the MAC client. So yes, it does exist now. When asked when we would actually see it, they said "Soon (tm)". Keep the faith. We will get premium graphics. Of course, we'll undoubtedly get a large number of new and improved bugs too, but that's how it goes i guess.

Somehow... an ugly unplayable client replaced by a beautiful unplayable client doesn't really cut it.
It's like getting ditched by the good looking chicki in the pub, and after plan B, you get ditched by the rhinosaurus in the pub.
a) i think premium will be more complicated.
b) classic client at the moment is a disgrace
c) you do the math...

TBH, I think equally as big of an issue is the lack of anti-aliasing support. The Premium client with all of its extra polygons (and hence jagged edges against space and other things) is exceptionally ugly without anti-aliasing.
