Im fairly new to the manufacturing side of Eve, I have a few questions that I hope someone will take the time to answer for me. I want to manufacture ships for myself and for my corp...and possibly to sell if it seems like a profitable venture. My first question is about Blueprints...Is buying them the only way that I can get blueprints, or is there alternatives such as agent missions etc? My other questions...from reading through the forums, guides etc...it seem that I should by orginal copies of Blueprints, yet when I go to the market screen I only see copies...where do i get original copies of ship Blueprints?
Any help with these questions will be greatly appreciated.

There is many ways to get BPOs 1) Buy them off the market -what you are seeing is -1 which equals orignal 2) Agent Mission - You can get low end bpos like ammo, missiles and modules 3) R&D agents - These give out Tech 2 BPOS.
If you have any other questions just post here someone will assist ya. Hulredi Coreli Corporation Core Logistics

Market Listed SHIP BP's are Orignals (BPO)....
BPC's (copies) being sold within escrow or the blueprint channel have a limited amount of runs (5 run, 5 Ships) (occasionally you see a infinite run being sold, but very pricy).
Yes, some agents give them away...but they seem to be few and far between and a rarity when they do...
Hope this helps some..

Ok one more question, if you mine your own resources etc..is it profitable to build ships to sell on the market? I realize you would have to build a few to break even since most of the blueprints are a couple mill isk.
But is it a good way to make money in the game?
With my previous char, I made most of my isk bounty hunting and doing mercanary missions. So the manufacturing side of the game is somewhat new to me.

It takes time and effort....A decent Frig BPO will cost ya around 2 to 6 mill...plus your time mining....
So, let figure you sell a executioner at 30k a pop...and the BPO was 300k (they are around...just look for them)...So, you figure 10 ships you break even right...? Nope, factory costs, mineral costs, and time mining yourself...so its all a big math problem....
Basically, you manufacture ships (this is me) for lump some donations to your wallet....
You can make money...but it a LONG term effort...not Short Term..

Also when selling something you make remember that the minerals still carry a cost to the.
if you make something that needs 2750 tritanium and you could have sold that tritanium for 1.8 isk a piece, then that item has a mnimum value of 4950 isk. That does not account for the cost of the blueprint if you bought it, or the cost to rent the factory. It also does not account for and costs incurred by renting labs to research the blueprint and make it use less minerals. Therefore if you turn around and sell the item for 4500 isk, then you are losing money you could have made just selling the trit to someone else that was making that same item.
In my example I used the mineral requirements for a shuttle at ME 0 with production efficiency 5. Obviously the ship would cost less to make if it had a higher ME.
