Patch will do nothing on a high end Gaming Computer !!
You say ''dramatic improvements in our Need for Speed''
But when i read the patch notes i see all changed stuf that my MSI 4870 OC 512 on a Intel E8500 can do while defragmentating hardrives and downloading movies and watching a DVD ad the same time while playing eve and then stil have no lag problem on my end .
Most off the lag i get is when the server let my computer wait.
My connection from Amsterdam to Londen is extreme fast so i will not really benefit from this christmas ''dramatic improvements''
But he when you run a 486 SX 50MHZ PC then maiby this wil give you the boost you where looking for

*yawn*... right... so, umm, yeah. Everybody has wasted money on a top-end gaming machine JUST so they can play EVE. And NOBODY ever plays EVE from a machine that wouldn't even RUN the newest games, let alone run them well. Anything else ?

You are the most qualified person in the world to make this assessment. I am absolutely certain that CCP have not seen an improvement and they are writing code just to keep themselves busy.
How about you just let them work?

I'm certainly looking forward to this patch. Woosh.
Not because I usually have performance problems, but because I have performance problems with multiple clients. Which is somewhat of a bummer.

Is OP complaining, or bragging, or both?
To be impressed i would need to :
a. be way nerdier than is healthy
b. have a clue what OP is talking about (see a.)
c. If a and b are true, i also have to give a ****.
I think what it means though is as long as I dont defrag my hard drives, watch and download **** while trying to play Eve i will get the same game experience as OP, just so long as i keep shovelling coal into my computer, it just cost me a hell of a lot less.

My comp is better, and I put a peanut butter sandwich in my DVD drive.
And my portable HD is a bagel with a wire.

I've got quite good machine on paper and still get lag. And yes, I have done the bracket thing etc. This introduced a new bug to me though. Sometimes selected shiptypes do not appear in Overview EVEN their respective overview setting has been loaded. The bracket setting is same for all. Kinda strange.
Shall see what the patch brings, I hope lag can be reduced even more. And for those saying only for EVE upgrading..well..I did that..I play EVE 95% of my time and currently have 1 game installed on my HDD besides EVE Online..that game is Steel Fury: 1942 Kharkov, a WW2 tank sim.
