I really feel for you guys tonight.
It seems like everytime there is a drama llama bomb dropped on eve-o, it is after close of business in Iceland, and you poor guys are stuck dealing with the ****, till the powers that be come in to the office the next day.
Mitnal...Navigator thanks for doing the thankless task that you do.
p.s. might I suggest a locked sticky at the top of GD linking to the official thread in the Info Portal.

Yes, you do that. but locked threads dissapear rather quickly, dont they ?
No offense, but honestly what the OP suggests could save you quite a bit of work from people feeling you want to hide something.

Every thread on this page except three have been locked. CCP needs to have a stock sticky for patch day / exploit notification threads.

Agreed, it could have easily been explained away until you took some market systems down, deleted some data off the historical graphs/tables, then didn't say anything about it. Now it just looks like you're hiding stuff. You need to get a real post up soon, detailing what has really happened, and why you acted like you did. You really couldn't handle this worse if you tried.
I guess it's not the forum mods' fault, sorry for the spam guys.

Not unless they get rid of their tinfoil wearing, T20 sign holding, "nevah-forget" shouting playerbase first.
It's a shame as in the early days it was only the trolls & noobs being flamed, nowadays no matter what thread you look with dev comment, there is at least 1, most often multiple totally unrelated flames towards devs.
Imagine going to work and that there is bunch of protesters outside the gates yelling you're crap. Okay, not so bad. Now imagine the same bunch is there daily, every day, 24/7. You turn to office with your family to pick up something you left and you get insults. I know it would wear me down quickly.
Locks & ban's are net-way of calling police to kindly remind this is not free society

So is this a confirmation that the devs (those that are awake) have been purposefully tampering with the price histories on the market for some as-of-yet unseen need? (personally i'm leaning towards making it so the prices don't skyrocket with people doing it based on market history, or possibly erasing evidence that this was ever an issue)

The market price history has never worked entirely properly. I've sold many things and had the price history not show anything sold above HALF the price I sold it for before, on multiple occasions. This was on random bits of rat loot, not anything that would be manipulated. Any irregularities in the current market history are more likely the result of the market history being buggy than any cover up on CCP's part.
In short, take off the damn tinfoil hat and apply Hanlon's Razor for once.
