I want the best amarri sniper bs, people are telling me apoc is the best sniper because of the bonus but when i look at the baddons attributess it has a greater optimal range
any ideas?

How has the Abaddon a greater optimal range than an APOC ?
You will not get much more than 175+25km out of an Abaddon,
which is insufficient for fleet sniping engagement as far as I know.
All choices you then have left is between cap stability or have more tank or gank than the APOC.
The Apocalypse on the other hand...:
231+25km
249 km targetting range
401 DPS // 2763 volley // 0.00544 tracking
roughly capstable
Please note,
that I am aware of the controversy
wether to fit MWD or not in this case :)
Also I have no experience with sniping fleets,
so take the setup with some grains of care ;)

Base lock range is not the optimal range. Optimal range depends on the guns, and apoc has the bonus for guns. You'll need sensor boosters for that 250 km lock range anyway.

I would say the apoc would make the better sniper and dont forget to add the T2 tachy beams awesome rage with aurora

It depends on what range you're at. But if you expect to need to shoot over about 170km, its the Apoc

If you need anything remotely resembling cap-stability (If you're POS bashing for example) the Apoc is again the best choice.
For PvP the Abaddon is all-out gank&buffertank and that's it. It's great at it, but that's it.
If the engagement requires range, remote repping or the ability to fire your guns for more than 2-3 minutes you're better off using something else.

typical fleet setup normally require an MWD, as if your stuck in a bubble your dead.
