I realise that this must have been asked many times but I can't find it!
I have been sent the standard "Contact me for an important mission" eve-mail but as it is in low sec I don't want to do it. Will I lose standing? I have not accepted it or even talked to the agent yet. Will it have any other effect - like delay my next storyline?
Thanks

If you travel out there, talk to the agent, and decline the mission there should not be a loss of standing. Just like everything else, you can decline one mission every four hours for a given agent without taking a hit. If you don't travel out there, and instead let the offer expire, then I expect there will be a standing loss. However, I do not know if it will be limited to just the agent, the agent and the corp for which he works, or the faction as a whole. I've never had this come up, so I have no personal experience to go by.
My recommendation would be travel out there in a covert ops if you can fly one, or a cheap/fast/agile frigate if not, and turn down the mission before it expires. ______________________________________________________ Isn't it enough to know that I ruined a pony making a gift for you? |

Edited by: Vril Ya on 11/12/2008 19:12:52 There is no faction standig loss for letting stroyline mission expire(when it is not accepted). And low sec stroyline missions ... am I the only one that get's only "transport 50k m3 over 10j mixed hi&low, and btw the agent is 10j from your current location, have fun moving your indy there" ?

Thanks for the info. The agent is actually in the same system that I run missions from. For some unknown reason they are sending me 5 jumps to do a kill mission in low sec. This happens with my lvl 4 agent, but only extremely rarely. If it was a cargo run then no problem - but I won't do a 45 min kill mission in a popular low sec system, it just isn't worth the risk.

You don't get a standing hit, if you don't talk to the agent or if you talk to the agent and turn the mission down. You do get a standing hit, if you talk to the agent and then let the mission expire, or if you accept the mission and fail it or let it expire.

Edited by: sxndy on 12/12/2008 10:37:46 Talk to agent and tell him/her NO
If you let it run there is a chance you will have completed another 16 missions and will find that you get a storyline from a far away agent.
just tell him no
