Edited by: Kaymo Phoenix on 16/07/2004 09:52:07 Edited by: Kaymo Phoenix on 16/07/2004 09:51:47 Let me start by saying that I know the rules and I broke them so please don't consider this a moan. In short, I fired off a smart bomb in a 0.7 belt, hit someoneÆs can and got spanked by Concord. I understood what would happen to me; I'd checked the scanner but just didn't see the can. As a result I lost my Raven.
I donÆt usually complain about these kind of things but the more and more I think what happened, the more I think it's just plain wrong.
A momentÆs lapse of concentration from me meant I slightly damaged someone's container (it was still there after the SB hit it) but I get chased down and killed costing me a 100M+ ship not to mention the fittings. In terms of the punishment fitting the crime this just can't be right.
It's a game of course and kinda of futile to make comparisons to real life but if I accidentally scratched someoneÆs property, I wouldn't expect the police swat squad to come down on me guns blazing and take me out!
I feel this is something CCP should look at. Maybe a hefty fine or loss of standing would be appropriate but not loosing a ship for a minor infringement that did no real damage to anyone or anything. |

Tbh I'm happy that I live in 0.0 space and don't have to deal with CCP's crap rules they make up every now and then. Sorry for you to lose a battleship because someone made up the idea that a can is someone's property and should be handled as a player. If I destroy someone's trashcan I usually don't get the same punishment as murderers do in rl.

This is exactly why 0.0 space is MUCH safer than empire space.
I for one dont feel safe near concord or the sentries. Seriously. -

So... that's the positive aspect of having negative security rating? I see.

I definately agree with you Kaymo. Supposedly cans are trash you don't want (at least thats what the dang ore-thieves want you to think) but to get wtfpwned by Concord over it is ridiculous. The fine idea sounds good to me. Hopefully CCP will take it to heart also.
I collect ships. Can I have yours? |

Glad to see the Empires punishing battleships.
A Raven in a 0.7 ... for the love of god why? ______________________________________________
Never argue with idiots. They will just drag it down to their level, and then beat you through experience. |

The problem lies with smartbombs. If they were simply banned in empire, we wouldn't have this problem.
As it is, you use them at your own risk. I don't even dare to have one fitted while I fly through empire. ------------------------------------------- "My main griveance with the Caldari state was that once I had finished my work for them, they wanted me dead."
"No, it's none of your business." |

I just happened to be in the area on the way to pick up a few things and someone in local shouted for help. I went to the belt to help them and the rest you know

Technically smartbombs are banned in empire space.
Every time anyone uses one they get abused by Concord and a post appears in here about what a bunch of meanies they are and they ruined my day and that was the seventh BS I've lost to them and I need counselling etc.
Like I said before, think of it real life - you let off a hand grenade in the street and the police will have you bent over a bonnet with a baton up your <nostril> before you can say "monkey burglar". Same in empire space - you let a mahoosive great explosive off and Concord's going to want some answers/your ship in bits.
Personally, if I was Concord I'd blast away at anything bigger than a frigate floating in empire space. You fly a BS in 1.0 and you've got to be hiding something illegal in that cargo bay...
It's not personality that counts, it's calibre... |
