I don't have enough ISK to afford the cloaking device skill or module, or a MWD, However, if you'd like to contract me the money so that I can afford all of this stuff, I would greatly appreciate it. But here's what I came up with anyway:
Quite simply, I'm flying a Slasher fit an overdrive module and afterburner. When I jump into the bubble, i align to my next gate and hit afterburner. Then I spam "Jump" to gate until it finally works. I tested this a little bit last night by flying through some empty space that had bubbles at the gates. There were some large warp disrupters parked at various gates through this one stretch I was travelling. If the disrupter is roughly centered on the gate, I can last about 10 seconds before I'm out of the bubble's range.
Now if this gate camp were in fact manned, would I have much of a chance? |

A better question is why were you doing in 0.0 with a slasher?
The higher paying rats can pretty much ignore a slasher, and unless you're in NPC 0.0, you can't dock at the stations.
As for the gate camp, if it were manned you'd probably have an interceptor web you in a couple of seconds bringing your speed down to low double digits. Provided someone didn't instapop you. There is a fine line between a post and a signature. |

It depends entirely on what they have.
Usually Micro warpdrives are better for fleeing from gate camps.
Also the best way to get out of the bubble is to avoid it all together.
A comon tactic is if your in range directional scan the gate to see if there bubbles present then warp to a celestial that would allow you to approach the gate from an angle differing from your position on the oposite gate.
This is commonly known as a bounce.
If your not close enough to get directional warp to a celestial that is close enough to provide you with intel on a gate, and then follow the same steps.
if no celestial will allow you to get close enough get as close as you can via a celestial then intentionally deplete you cap to zero, then attempt a warp that will fail. This will put you closer to the gate with out actually landing on it and getting stuck in said drag bubble.
If you land in a bubble, or jump into one it is best to find a celestial object that will either take you in a direction away from the gang or the gangs nearest tackler that is on the bubble, OH your microwarpdrive untill your out of the bubble and warp off. Then bounce around to other celestials as a smart gang will see where you go and will send one or two peeps after you.
Yes you too can move through null sec with out loosing your ship on a buck fitty.
Most of this stuff isnt ship sensitive the ship just needs enough grid to fit a microwarp drive really.
You can also if you find yourself frequently going through systems make "tacs" or a book mark 200 to 300 km above or below a gate. Warp to that then warp down. That will get you around bubbles as well. |

It's a beautiful ship and very cheep.
I'm not interested in mining or ratting. I'm space touring, and trying to find interesting people to talk with, shoot at, or run from. |

I'm still somewhat "cloaked" for some of this time (assuming I jumped into the gate camp, not warped into one), so I figure there's only about 5 or 6 seconds where someone can target and kill me.

The graphical effect may show you as slowly phasing in from the cloak, but as far as everyone's overview is concerned you decloak as soon as you start moving. So, no, you do not have 5-6 seconds (which is still enough for a frigate or interceptor to tackle you btw). You have 10. To be honest I've always found the answer to do with the quality of the camp not the ship you are in, I've blown past many gate camps using a t1 frigate with some inertia mods and stabs and a mwd.
8/10 times you will make it but not always. If there is a bubble on the gate your chances dive a bit but even then it's possible. God Said "Come Forth and receive eternal life!"-á I came second and won a toaster. |

Your chances of not dying will be vastly improved by learning how to use the directional scanner to check for bubbles, interdictors and other dangerous stuff, and use of safespot and aforementioned bouncing.
Any decent gatecamp will have a good chance of catching you in 0.0 however. Using a covert ops ship will greatly increase your chances but there is always some risk (sensor boosted alert interceptors for example). Using only a cloak in a normal ship will help but an alert gatecamp will have a good chance of decloaking and killing you.
That said, I've run many camps in a normal uncloaked ship due to skill, and more often, luck, and I've been killed by very good gatecamps in covert ops. 100% safety is not an option.
In lowsec in a fast small ship you are usually quite safe. FIRE FRIENDSHIP TORPEDOES ! Louis's epic skill guide v1.1 |

Thanks for the replies. I got bored and bio-massed Bart Warton, but hopefully this thread will help out other new players. Running around in Null-sec without a purpose is quite terrible, but I'm glad I got to experience. There's no big mystery there.
Although, a few days ago, I think a space hooker in Red.Overlord space was going to proposition me for space sex before the gate camp got me. Between the space hooker and the gate camp, that was the only excitement I had in null-sec.
Incidentally, before I bio-massed, I was out in the heart of Against All Authorities space. |

First of all don't expect many people to talk to you in null-sec, common rule is don't talk to neutrals in local, period.

NO, you only hold gate-cloak for 60 seconds IF you do NOTHING. As soon as you do something (align, set speed, warp, what ever) you ARE visible to others, no matter what your on screen graphics tell you. So this means that for the duration of 10 seconds it takes you to get out of the bubble, you can be targeted / shot at for 10 seconds.
