I last played as the Nos nerf came into the game. I really don't remember too much but since I was bored again, I'd figured I'd give the game another shot. So here I am and can't remember that much on how to play.
So what have I missed?

edit for more helpful content:
Nano Nerf (mk. II) hit recently. But the speed changes also came with some nasty missile changes and some web nerfs. So the dead nano ships are returned as zombie nano ships that are slightly slower but can still kill you.
Dunno if you did PvP or PvE but the former has become a little more difficult given the agility changes that allow cruisers to align and warp like frigates.
Faction Warfare was introduced, basically allowing you to declare war on 2 of the empire factions (Caldari/Amarr) (Minmatar/Gallente). Originally (and still occasionally) turns into a massive blob or the other side simply jumps into their high sec. Still, some good fun to be had.
ECM got un-nerfed, Falcons now dominate the PvP landscape.
I think PvE types got moar missions.
We got more 0.0 regions too. Full of rogue drones. And one new low sec region.
Can't remember if the nos-nerf was before or after the reintroduction of warp to zero, but that's here now. Also can't remember if the Privateer nerf(a.k.a the war dec nerf) was before or after nos.
Suicide ganking got nerfed.
Carebears got the Rorqual (mining capital) and the Orca (big mining bonus thing with a corp hangar that can be in high sec).
Some scandal, some tears, people threatening to ragequit, other people telling them to go back to WoW and to have their stuff.
The more things change, the more they stay the same amirite?
Oh, and welcome back.

The recent nanonerf is more of a speed rebalance. I suggest you read the patch notes, since there was a ton of changes. It affected many other parts like ships/modules/rigs/implants/drones. The changes are major and many, so you are better of reading about them yourself. You don't want things like warp scramblers shutting down your MWD come as a surprise.

Edited by: Aion Amarra on 13/12/2008 14:56:34 To sum the nano nerf for modules up relatively quickly:
Nanos and Polycarbs no longer decrease mass, but give a small percentage to max speed and agility.
MWDs all give the same speed boost (500% base), but the better ones remove less cap and have a smaller sig penalty instead. (EDIT: Keep in mind that due to missile changes, an MWD on an inty now can be a serious death sentence, because sig now plays a huge role in determining missile damage vs. speed.)
Snake implants got a heavy nerf to their overall effects.
Skirmish warfare no longer affects speed, but agility.
In general, I think there's now no longer a way to reduce your mass in any way. Lots of stuff that previously gave speed bonuses now gives agility bonuses.
