Yay for stack-less IO.. If you die, you are screwed and still in that system until the battle is done.. In the past the lag was worse, but at least if you got killed you could re-ship and get back into the fight if you eventualy grid-loaded, now you are basicly stuck in the system if you get killed.. way to go ccp!

Not a year ago, it was just this bad, or worse, with 500. I know all you think you need huge amounts of people to win, that's cool, and it's epic, but don't complain, just deal with it.

Considering that topic elsewhere on premium client memory leak it makes me wonder. As for large numbers & nodes .. it's always the same, bring 50, the other guy brings a hundred, etc. from there. Human behaviour. Still, we have seen some pretty big fights recently around here, much improved since older days. ≡v≡

And then nominate the developers of that game for a Nobel prize, two emmys, and an Olympic medal. Cause they deserve it.

Things were going fine, it seems to be just when folks relog, or ctd and get back in is when the real troubles start. Maybe related to the proxy troubles of earlier today, dunno. ≡v≡

Then for some time it stabilized and was very laggy but playable (very laggy = 1min module activation, lots of dead people on overview sayin "target invulnerable" when you try to lock). Unfortunately it detoriated, now its way worse, grids dont load (even simple pos grinds with no fights), chats freeze, modules dont respond at all, modules dont turn off for 30+ minutes, etc. Surprisingly, you can warp around quite nicely. PS. Just seen a bs hull tank 20+ fighters for about 10 minutes, before popping. -- "Learning is not compulsory... neither is survival. "

But there is still a long way to go, and it is more than possible to get this figured out to eliminate server induced lag. Hence, CCP is working on it. Your attitude of "if you have a problem, leave" is what leads some devs to not care. You are what is wrong with Eve, because you are what hinders change by biting the heads of people that want reasonable change. Now then, this was epic. I couldn't get in on it, unfortunately. Black screen, never loaded grid, etc. After an hour and half of trying, I just gave up and contented myself with reading the reports and listening to TS.

I think i had to wait about 30 minutes before i could do anything, and then i even warped to the wrong moons on three occassions, but managed to warp safe before grid and those nasty POS guns loaded. Sometimes lag on epic scale comes in handy. Managed to ***** me on at least 3 KM (probably a fourth as well, but haven't seen that up on GS killboard yet) despite having to log and relog about 5 times during the battle. But it was tremendous fun being in what i believe the most epic battle ever (at least in terms of people in local) in EVE. I saw local at about 1246 one moment. Thats a lot! And my fleet Tempest even survived with only a little scratch on the armor. Mad props to all involved :) ___________________________________

Posted - 2008.12.14 20:04:00 - [96] i happened to jump into c9n yesterday when local was at 534. and some large bubbles on the gate, couldnt tell if people were fighting on the gate, but i jced to h8-zto to sell off some old old assets. then i left with 12 +2 implants in my velator 50 jumps to empire. i jettisoned the cargo before i died, didnt want it on the km, wanted to see how far i could carry it :) grid loaded pretty good once i jumped into the fleet, not sure if fight was on going on the gate but could have sword i saw shots at something other than my velator. also another possible problem could be the significant memory issue, people are crashing constantly once windows runs out of memory and having to log back in constantly and repeat the whole load process on the node could have its affect, when the memory issue is fixed properly, then we'll see how a battle like this plays out with the new stuff in QR 1.03 i wonder do you have guys have off drone models as well now too? if the issue is only with premium id gladly turn on the normal client until its fixed, i cant recall if it affects vista as much as xp but i think not... xp at home is terrible if im alt tab after like 1 hour of playing, everything is frozen, but at work using vista, cant recall the same thing. ------ RECON is recruiting
