She was red to me, but I loved the way she flew. She Jumped into Decon in an incursus and daily owned the belts. Several times I chased her around, only to watch her warp off as i warped in, making me believe i was only a good warp in away.
After a week of fruitless cat and mouse games, we both knew something had to give. I would adapt. I gave up my AF and fit a sniper cat with dual sensor boosters, range and scan res, and wait for her 50k's from a belt. Spike in the 125 mm T2 rails for the initial volleys, and Federation antimatter for the close work.
Cats are thin, she knows she can pop me if she gets in close and gets 2 volleys and a drone away. She knows it, and I know it. I'm betting she wont get that chance.
I light a benson and hedges and drag the acrid smoke in, I test the rails on 2 rats that conveniently spawn 56k's from me. 2 volleys, pop pop. I feel good about this.
The only thing worrying me is will she fall for the faction antimatter? She'll know I'm sniper fit, and she know's I'm not going to run. Only one way to find out.
I crush the filthy cig into my full ashtray as she jumps into Decon. The only red star in local. I have no web, no tackle. The only thing keeping us in this fight will be the iron will to win. We both have it. I wonder if she will bail when she realizes she's trapped.
I have no more time to wonder, she's flashy red 56 k's from me. Exactly where I want her. I lock and fire. Primed, a single motion. 6 125 mm railgun ii's spit spike and her shields are gone, she's into armor in one volley.
She's in trouble and she knows it, I watch her align and warp as the second volley hits her. She's gone before I can see how much armor peeled off. I unload the spike, and load the faction antimatter. I can see her on scan at the planet, "this is it", I think, then she's back.
She's 20k from me when she releases her single drone. Once again I prime the guns, lock and fire in a single action. The drone springs at me ready to rip into the cat, but she's not fooled. She's already aligned and warping away. The lock is broken and the guns silent as she tears off, fire streaming from her tail across my view.

It was only at the second instance of the word that I realised his Cat was, in fact, a Caldari destroyer and not, as I had previously assumed, a feline commonly kept as a pet.
I far prefer the image of a sniper cat, tail twitching involuntarily as it awaits its prey.
In other news: should have smoked a Lucky Strike. Not that I'm superstitious or anything.
