We have a Buddy List, an Agents List, a Corp Members List, and a Blocked List. I propose that there be an official 'Enemy List'. That way instead of adding WT's and griefers to what is supposed to be your list of friends and contacts, you have them in an entirely different list of people you are definitely are not 'buddies' with.
And I know there are folders in the buddy list, but when you have way too many people on your Buddy List, and try to look to see what Baddies are online at any given time, and the lag factor makes it take 10 seconds to get the info you need fast, it's not a good situation. Plus with the importance of screen space in this game, I would be great to just hit a tab to switch between them, just like you hit a tab to see your Agents vs. your buddies, rather than painfully scrolling through a list to find people. And having them separate would be especially good if you ever had to reinstall the client, and all your folders in the Buddy List disappear. I think it would improve organization and help players feel a little more in control of their vital information.
I'm sorry if this idea has already been suggested, it just seemed that this is a glaring lack of an essential tool in a hostile universe, one that would not be that difficult to implement.

Seems to me this would reduce lag as when you open your buddies list you will effectively only load half of it at a time. *I am not a lag expert. Please correct me if I am wrong.

This is a good idea. Politics is a huge element in EvE, and there should be more powerful in-game tools for it. At the personal, corp and alliance level, I'd like to see assignable, perhaps even customizable lists for categorizing players and organizations. Kill on Sight, Docking Okay, Contract Embargo, Punk, Travel Permit, AFK Cloaker, etc. could be flagged onto pilots and they could be quickly identified, either from their overview icon, their Local Chat portrait or their Info screen. It would help us to know who is who and how to behave in the largest, most populous server cluster around.
Just like we can assign titles and roles to corp members, we should be able to mark significant pilots and groups for the information of our mates. How many alliance and corp mails, forum posts and emails are sent out just to help us keep track of how we're supposed to treat people? How many people do you have notes on to explain why they're in your buddy list?
It's tough to keep track of. We could use some help.

^^^ Thats probably a good idea, but i think the Char specific notes are good enough. _______________________________________________

The notes are great for keeping track of why you don't like someone, but doesn't help you find them any quicker.
Thanks for the responses. There are some nice feature requests up here, hope CCP can start implementing them soon. :)

I would say add the "like/dislike" list to the buddy list tabs and you'll get my vote.

I personally always put a reason in the field when I set them as negative standing, I'd like to be able to view the standing change reasons that have been made on a person from me/corp/alliance.
Just this alone would be awesome.
