I got bored tonight so I jumped into the Blackbird and headed for low sec space to cause some trouble for the first time since CoH came out. The first system offered up a lone Rupture hunting NPCs. I felt a bit bad jumping him mid-fight but the feeling passed. First kill and he told me that there were battleships on the way. I hung around for a little bit and then moved on.
Next system had 3 players from the same corp hunting: 2 Moas and a Caracal. I jumped to their belt once and aligned so I could come back the other way. Jumped out and back and got a Moa that was seperated from the pack. Jumped out and then fooled around against the remaining two (hi sensor dampeners). They were smart enough not to let me get into scrambling range so I kept trying to get a good vector to jump in on the Moa. Once again I was told that battleships were coming. For some reason I thought there might actually be more people coming. Jumped to a gate and started my slow approach. This was about 3 minutes after the last time I took a shot at anyone. Guess what jumps in? Yeah, a damn Apocalypse from the same corp. Ok, blood racing now but I'm 3k from the gate. Click...click...click...huh? I can't jump? Boom boom - my favorite Blackbird gone.
Morals: learn about how the game has changed (aggression flag is 15 minutes now according to what people told me afterwards - what the hell). Never undock without insurance. And don't be afraid to take on crazy odds because it's fun.

gate agression is not 15 min. you probably jamed the gate by trying to jump 1m to far from it and the jamed it.
Other then that nice storry and well done mate.

I thought it was only possible to jam a gate when you use an insta jump bookmarks and dont wait till you've slowed down before jumping.......or
Trying to jump while cloaked ...that also jams gate
Always have a destination set beyond the gate and toggle auto pilot to jump.....

Trying to jump while cloaked ...that also jams gate
Always have a destination set beyond the gate and toggle auto pilot to jump.....

yeah, everyone has to learn that stuff like that - but it's better if you learn it early with a frig... otherwise it could cost you lots of isk

Yeh thats a real joy! You can jam them without instas as well and auto managed to jam one the other day as an inty rushed towards me and his mates in BS's started to warp in. When that happens and you're outnumbered the best thing to do is dont panic and shoot or you're stuck there for longer. You just have to take the beating as long as you can and then jump. Try it too early and your stuck again.
