2pm: my time start scanning for complexes. Find wormholes, belts, etc etc etc...AHA!!!
3:30pm: Found a nice complex so risk bringing my 3bil Tengu in along in nulsec, crossing through blind gates and an untold number of dangers.
5:15pm: Complete Complex. Jump home to get a salvager and make room for loot.
5:30pm: Jump back and the jumpgate is gone! Not a f*cking dollor to my name!(drones)
This is not fun! And this is not the first time this has happened. In fact it happens all the freaking time!
Stupidest f***ing S*** Ever!
Sorry for the rant but this is no way to motivate a person. I'm sure I'll laugh about this tomorrow but today I feel like throwing my monitor at CCP. |

Bookmark a wreck in each room. They despawn, but you can warp directly to the wrecks once that happens. |

No I don't think you can bookmark the wrecks. Once the gate is gone it's gone unless someone is in it. |

Ok then if the wrecks can be bookmarked then they can be scanned down. Let's see. |

No, they cannot be scanned down. But yes, they can be bookmarked. I always do this. Hell, I did it between this post and my first one. It works.
But no scanning. If you really, really want that stuff, get your dscan going like crazy and get in a very fast ship. |

I can't tell if you're being intentionally dense or if you're just stupid.
It is completely possible to BM wrecks, despite the fact that wrecks can't be scanned down. You do know that right clicking something after your probed it down isn't the only way to BM stuff, right? (TBH, I have a feeling it's one of the least used ways to BM stuff, overall)
Also, site despawning mechanics are very well known and actually pretty well documented. Have you been living under a rock? |

1.5 hours to scan down a plex? Almost 2 hours to complete it? In a 3 bil ISK Tengu!? "Wrecks can be scanned"?!?
OP, please mothball your Tengu, get in a frigate, join E-Uni or something and learn how Eve works.

I'm going to assume you took the mastercard way to that Tengu.
Bookmark a wreck in each room, the site will despwan but the wrecks will remain, all shiny and impossible to be probed down. It's standard procedure for looting missions/complexes. For every player ship that blows up, the wheels of the economy turn slightly faster. -áDo your bit today. -áGo out and PEW.

Partly true, lot of bullshit included with that reply. Wrecks, cans, player owned ships and structures can be scanned down by someone who is competent at using the Directional Scanner. Even though player ships and exploration sites can be found a lot easier with probing. Also I wouldn't consider low sec and null sec operations as standard procedure.
To the OP: I suggest having probes show on overview and have the Directional Scanner set to use active overview setting. Do a scan every few seconds and when probes show up on Directional Scan, cloak up and be ready to warp out to a safe spot. For expeditions, I usually do something like a 'Scorched Earth' policy by quickly checking wrecks for top loot and then destroy them. Trick is to not let a lot of wrecks build up in the initial room. Expedition locations can't be found with probing but the wrecks will show in Directional Scanner. The final room or area where the Overseer is could be bookmarked and after destroying all NPC's, warp out for the site to despawn, go fit up salvager and warp back to bookmark and collect salvage and loot. Mainly the Overseer and or Commander NPC's are the prime objective, all the other NPC ships are expendable.

A hour or 2 to complete say 5 rooms of a 10/10 as well as the overseer/station I think is normal. |

If the distance from the acceleration gate to the room is the same as in normal missions (10000km iirc), you should theoretically even be able to slowboat there if the gate is gone: All you need is the direction of the wrecks narrowed down on your d-scan and a fast ship.
