Originally by: Dasrien Serenity I'm currently training towards being able to run l3s in something. I'm just trying to figure out what that 'something' should be! I like frigs, mainly because everything for them is cheap , and I've heard about people doing l3s in assault frigs. Can this really be done? What about Stealth Bombers, could they do l3s? How much dps is enough for a l3? And how much tank?
Easily with assault frigs. Enyo, Retribution and Wolf. There you go. Fit AB and full gank. Just set your orbit range to turret optimal and hop on targets orbit and shoot them.

I do (almost) all of my L3's in my Enyo. The fact is that if you're tanking your AF you're probably doing it wrong. I simply warp in, hit my DCU (actually I normally do that in warp) and my AB and go to work. I get 250 ish DPS with antimater and about 270 with fed anti-matter. The trick is to take out all the frigates first, and carry some null with you if you have to tangles with webifiers and can't coast into anti-matter range/ you are doubly webbed.
My setup
4x Light Neutron Blasters II ([fed] anti-matter and null)
1x Gistii Type-B AB 1x X5 Stasis Webifier (it helps with the webbing ships sometimes, not sure what else you could stick there, maybe a cap recharger, never bothered checking)
1x Pseudoelectron DCU (unfortunatly I don't think you can fit a DCU II on there) 2x Magstab II 1x 1-a polarized armor repair (you shouldn't be running this nonstop).
There are some mission where you'll have to warp out to repair, so you can switch up a magstab for a resist if you want, but it takes under a minute to fully repair you armor anyways. And make sure you either have a BC/long range ship or simply avoid Probing Question because the Amarr Navy rats will suck you dry (atleast the 1st wave). Unfortunatly NPC vamps don't work like player vamps and will still suck even when you have no cap. With this set up you should be able to handle everything including Angels Extravaganza with the bonus room, just don't get ****y like I did and use your structure as a tank because you don't want to warp out for the minute you need Signatures are annoying...kinda like me. |

Actually, depending on your skills, it's entirely possible to run a lvl 3 in an AF. So long as you get an appropriate ship (wolf/jaguar vs Sansha/Blood Raiders etc), it should really be quite simple. My sig sucks. |

In all honesty I bet the majority of lvl3 running drakes do less dps than a decently spec'd AF. Especially the ******ed 4 * spr drake setups. So I doubt you will be going much slower than most other people on lvl3's since by the time they have the SP to get some actual dps out of the drake they will be doing lvl4's.
