Is it normal that the sun shines through anything (planets, ships, stations ect) or does that just happened on older video cards, and on the newer ones theres sun occlusion (whatever its called). Im using a NVIDEA GeForce 3 Ti 200.

No its not normal, My card dosent do it, and the one I have in my PC right now is an ATI Radeon 7500. So its an older card, but not as old as a GF3 I dont think.

theres an option on graphics if yyou press escape (or general) says occlude sun. either switch it on or off, as long as gc supports it.

I have the Sun is occluded by ships option turned on, but it still shines right through them.
I asked in my corp if it works for people, and some people said it does for them, and they have older vid cards then i do (older models). Wtf is up?

it takes more power to occlude the sun. some cards may not have it, simple.

try this:
turn it off if its on, go back to game, hit escape again, turn it back on, hit escape and check if its working. if not try restarting the game. i had the same problem, and that worked for me. also fixed the camera not rotating around my ship in stations even though it was marked on.

i keep it off cause multiple accounts work tons better with it off.

Nothings working :/ Damn vid card. I might try swapping my gefroce 3 for my old geforce 2 and see what happens. Thanks for the help though.

You could also try updating your drivers. See if that helps.

With updated drivers (the newest NVidea drivers) I still didnt have occlusion, but on top of that I wasnt able to see the ads in billboards, and the minmatar stations were broken - all girders instead of a station.

With updated drivers (the newest NVidea drivers) I still didnt have occlusion, but on top of that I wasnt able to see the ads in billboards, and the minmatar stations were broken - all girders instead of a station.
