(not quite sure if this is the right place to put this)
Anyway, I decided to buy a 60-day timecode since tis obvoiusly much faster for me to do real life work for 1 hour and "buy" isk, than griding rats for 1 hour in EVE. I found www.eve-codes.com on CCP's list of licensed timecode retailers and just picked that one 'cause they apparently are dedicated ETC sellers, and its all they do (alot of time to service me)
I ordered the code, Paypal confirmed the transaction was made, and I recieved confirmation from eve-codes that I had ordered the code. For some reason they asked for personal info again in one of their automated messages (they should already have it from the transaction I made). So... I sent them my info again.
This is now 5 days ago, and I have heard NOTHING from them. No phone-call, no mail... Yesterday I wrote an "angry" mail to their support mail adress. Still nothing, even though they claim they will complete the order within 1 work day.
What do I do now? Is eve-codes.com a bunch of scammers? Is this the price I pay for cheating by buying timecodes?? Did my money somehow get transfered to CCP's secret swiss bank account???
Im pretty ****ed off about getting scammed like that.
Any advice on what to do about this?

Have you checked your email ? Could be the code was accidentally delivered in your bulk/spam folder. Any other number of things could have gone wrong, and you won't get much help / "tech support" with a 3rd party vendor from posting in the EVE official forum.
P.S. There's a reason people use battleclinic or shatteredcrystal preferentially, since they have the lowest "failure" rate to date and a pretty large volume. _ Create a character || Fit a ship || Get some ISK |

I didn't mention that in the first post because I would see it as an insult to be considered that stupid. Yes I have checked my spam box. Their other mails went right to my inbox anyway.

Edited by: Jana rockefeller on 16/12/2008 23:08:11 i used them once, they sent me dodgy codes which CCP said were used some months previosly. Complaining to them took from the friday morning until late following tuesday to get this corrected. I wouldnt deal with them again. i use Shattered Crystal now and have had faultless service for nearly 9 months, and codes virtually within seconds of sending my order.

Then WHY are they still on the list of official ETC Retailers. That site should be removed from the list ASAP.

CCP didnt seem to be bothered with the fact i got duff codes from eve-codes.com, they just said they were used codes and to go back to the reseller for replacements. Another problem i see is trying to purchase GTC in ú Sterling. Not one reseller deals in UK currency, only Dollars and Euros. So i have to pay over the odds and twice! once for the card and again for the currency conversion....recently the $34.99 is costing me nearly ú25 for the 60 day card whereas before it was under ú18, so its a big rise for players like myself with more than one toon!

You where offered to join the Euro-zone. It's your own bloody fault. :) --

I bought codes from them on several occasions (evetimecode.com) maybe 6 times or so and I always received all the codes. Right after the first order they called me and had to confirm some weird stuff but there were no bothering calls after the upcoming orders. You could always cancel the transfer with PayPal ofc.

There are several possible causes:
- the rumors/statements are not true - they are true but it's in someone's interest to let it go on - negligence/carelessness

Of course, astute readers might notice that the OP had problems when he purchased his codes from www.eve-codes.com NOT from www.evetimecode.com - a small yet quite vital distinction.

they both land the same as they both weight the same
im not so much of a spammer than you think
people think of it as feather being light but you have the same weight , just menas you have a really big bag =P
but if the bag is bigger and the center of the bag are in the same place the feathers bag will be sticking further below the other bag and so the feather bag might infact beat the lead to the ground

I bet you can gain more airresistance per pound of lead than per pound of feather, it's just a bit more complicated.
And he didn't ask what bag would hit the ground first, he asked which one would fall first. My guess is the bag he drops first.
So stop trolling you spammer. Parrots, commence!

I've had good experiences with BattleClinic. They don't request any personal data other than what any other online transaction at Amazon or PizzaHut would require (addy, phone, credit card). Codes are emailed directly very quickly. I've bought multiple codes from them over the last six months.

You may think these things are obvious and so not mention them, but it is always preferable to state ALL of your actions you have taken when seeking technical support. If you don't mention them often people will assume you didn't do them.

Edited by: General Ric on 17/12/2008 04:54:28 Maybe this is a dumb question, as I have never personally bought a GTC, but why are you buying from a 3rd party website when you can buy time codes at the EVE store? I can't imagine why anyone would resell a product that anyone can get directly from the source unless it was either to scam you, overcharge you, or for some other nefarious purpose, such as collecting your personal info and selling it to a marketing firm so they can send you more spam.

(Evestore sends you the physical cards, other stores just send you the codes from the cards)

I wasn't aware that they actually sent you a physical card when you buy it from the EVE store. I'm guessing the shipping times must be pretty horrendous for people to actually use 3rd party sites so that they can get their ISK ASAP. But this still raises some other important questions about the GTC business model.
Why would CCP flush money down the toilet on manufacturing and shipping costs for a product when they could give players the option of just buying an electronic time code for the same price? It really doesn't make a whole lot of sense to me why they would insist on sending a physical product when many people don't actually want it. They could still offer the actual card for sale if desired, but from the point of view of maximizing profit and keeping your customers happy and 3rd party scam free, I can't envision why CCP is shooting themselves in the foot by not offering this service.

I have to say I had this problem to. There is a easy solution to it tho,if not very obvious: Go to your account there and select the option of having your ten last keys sent to you by email. Then pick the key on the date you ordered the product.
Its not really a good solution, but it have worked for me so far.

I had this same thing happen to me with an order. Dispute the transaction with paypal. You're either get your code or your money back. (EvE Time Codes gave me the code, the people that I used next time did the exact same thing, didn't bother to give me any response, and simply let paypal refund the money).
I would recommend either shattered crystal or battleclinic next time you want to buy timescodes.

Alright, its been a month now, and yesterday I recieved following mail:
Quote: Dear ***** ******* At 11th of December you have placed an order for ETC time code by eve-codes.com. Automated confirmation is sent to you immediately after you have done the order. With this email we confirm for the payment acceptance and also ask you to provide actual contact data we could contact you with. Since then we have no response received. Please, contact with us in order to clear the details around your payment and send your codes. We will keep looking forward for your response. Best regards, Simeoneve-codes.com
I answered that I had contacted them several times with my contact info, and said that I wanted retract the order.
Today I recieved following mail:
Quote: Dear ***** ****** During the last month we have sent several emails trying to contact you with. For some reasons they all did not reached you. You have a refund as requested. Best regards, Simeoneve-codes.com
And Paypal contacted me, and told me the money had been refundend...
So, everthing is good. I have no idea what went wrong.
I reccomend that you never use their service, it's horrible.
See ya...
