The story: HackG of Sweaty Pits was sitting in his Abbadon in Seyllin waiting for unsuspecting travellers to pass through the Mets gate so he could kill them. Now he wasn't sitting right on the gate but several thousand km off the gate at a ss. Since I knew this and was sitting in my Sentinel (which I wanted to test) I occaisionally checked the mets gate whenever a new person would come into system to see if HackG was there. So after about 10 minutes he sure enough showed up when someone came through and I zipped in and grabbed him. With the gate guns on my side I killed his buddy in a kestrel first then concentrated on Mr. G. I was probably orbiting him for about, damn, maybe 5-10 minutes with him pinned and unable to do anything and ever so slowly going down in armor (he may have been able to keep this up indefinatly) till a few friends, Lord Morgo and Xavier Shrike, showed up to give me a hand in their Enyo and Taranis. Now that the gate guns, Morgo, Xavier, and myself were going through his armor fast enough that he couldn't rep he started talking in local: HackG > no payment? Mechanics seem a bit dodgy on the issue though because sometimes it works and sometimes you get a "Can't dock/jump for 15 minutes" sign. But in all fairness, He's not there to amuse you, so I don't see anything remotely disgraceful about denying you your kill. After all, eve is about having fun whilst denying it to your opponent. Its one small way to alleviate the crippling pain of -10 piles - and turn a disadvantage into a small boon. The amount of times Ive see non outlaws cravenly jump out into high sec gibbering in fear to escape me is uncountable. Anti Pies in particular use high sec to their advantage to flee to - so why not. I dont see the difference. Lord Morgo Wrath of Fenris	Posted - 2008.12.17 18:50:00 - [8] Whether jumping into highsec is deemed a relevant tactic or not, I feel you have to question the motives of someone doing this in this particular situation (eg. a -10 in a BS with NO chance of warping away before Concord has its way with his ship). You ARE going to lose a ship, you have FAILED. Take the loss, be a man, try harder next time. But by jumping into a highsec system to deny players a kill? That seems to me like you already know you suck at pvp (you were wtfpwned by 3 frigs), but you're just trying to hide it from everybody else. I pity you.

You recieve a hostility flag to that faction - Gallente Navy, Amarr Navy, etc (yellow timer) . You can jump back out if you can get to the next gate before the faction cruisers start to scram you. If, however, you happen to jump into a system where Concord serve as the gate police, your hostility flag is to Concord themselves, which means you have the 15 minute Global Criminal Cooldown (the red timer). You wont be able to dock or jump until that gcc flag is gone.

You know as well as i do that when you die by CONCORD you dont need to really post your lose mail aslong as no PC's are on it. So basically what was said was: HackG: I don't want a killmail, please ransome me if you don't I will jump through the gate so concord will kill me then I won't have to post a mail. Lord Morgo: 150 mil!! HackG: Ok (then was not fast enough even though we slowed our fire and I brought my drones in) Then he jumped. And that was the tale of how HackG can't even go down like a man. Sure its a lousy mechanic, but its there nonetheless and as such you adapt to it. That is what alot of what this game ia about, adapting to the mechanics. You didn't. Jumping to high sec is not metagaming though. It might be lousy, but its still legit.

Probably because at the time I was the only one in the area and it started that I wanted to test my Sentinel set up against a bigger ship. Therefore O mentally challenged one I knew that I did not have the fire power to take him down myself and would have to use the gate guns to my aid as if he jumped through he would die. The friendlies didn't come untill I was talking about it in a channel and they offered to add some dps and once they showed up his armor just dropped (Enyo) as he (I don't think at least) really didn't have much cap left the fact that he jumped through to escape getting a killmail doesn't make me sad. So Concord got the final blow. He got worked by 3 frig class ships with the good use of some gate guns. WE ARE LEGI0N. WE DO NOT FORGIVE. WE DO NOT FORGET. EXPECT US.
